Young'n: This are nice, basic bookends, the classic shape you've found in public libraries for the last sixty years. The enamel is somewhere below semi-gloss black, and the embossed bracing lines add sturdiness to the sheet metal.
The only point against this bookend is the height of the base. With the embossed edging line and the thick anti-skid dots, it stands roughly an eighth of an inch off the shelf, so it will definitely be noticeable.
Good quality product, well worth the price!

krystyl_rose: We are avid readers and have a great deal of books, so we were very pleased to find that we could get these book ends at a decent price.
They are a nice hefty metal (not the lightest when stacked, but reasonably light individually). Very similar to the type you might find keeping books from falling over at your local library. We use them as single book stops in our bookcases for shelves that aren't full, as well as ends for books we don't keep on shelves, and these work great for both.
