Amazon Customer: Love these! The sand inside makes them soft and easy to hold with a relaxed hand grip. One pound adds up when doing multiple repetitions. Also, these are great for rolling out tight back and glute muscles, better than tennis balls. Another reviewer said these look solid in airport security screening, so consider that.

Annie Johnston: This is the brand of toning balls that my barre / pilates studio uses but I originally bought a cheaper alternative toning ball to use at home. When the cheaper alternative arrived, I realised why these are more expensive - you can't really compare the quality. These are a great size to fit in the palm of your hand and the smaller size means that the weight in the balls is concentrated in your hand and doesn't move around the ball when you're using it (which happened with the cheaper option. They will get slightly misshapen with continued use according to how you hold them, but that is to be expected with this style of weight. I wouldn't but another brand now.

Daisy: I already own 1lb and 2lbs weighted balls and now with these 3lbs my workout is more of a challenge. They are very well made, soft to touch and if they deflate a little over time, you can pump them up to its round shape with a bicycle pump and a pin needle attachment (available separately in sporting equipment shops). These came in a nice container, with shaped insert to maintain the rounded shape of the weights. They are filled with some sort of heavy sand and air.

R.DemainR.Demain: These are the newer version of the Stott toning balls. These are larger than the previous versions, not as comfortable to hold but they are better made and cheaper. They come in a storage container with a concave base that prevents them from getting smushed. The quality control also seems better and they are sold in pairs. They are made out of PVC - it's shiny and feels like rubbery vinyl

In the old version, two identical balls would feel like different densities/weights. See picture - purple ball is old version, yellow is this product. Purple = 3-5/16" diameter Yellow = 3-1/2" diameter

I also purchased the Theraband balls to see which ones I preferred. These are not as large as the Theraband toning balls. The Theraband balls are well made and feel less dense. Ultimately it comes down to size and what feels good for you. I have small hands so the Stott balls worked better.
