Not great, wood should be better.

D Lewis: For the price especially an excellent sound. Placed just right on a mandolin they work surprisingly well. Recommend

Stephen ShortridgeStephen Shortridge: They are passive pickups so pretty low output. Sound is good but a LOT better if run through a preamp. Little inline battery powered preamps are cheap and really make these pickups work their best. I put one pickup on a brass body resonator guitar from Recording King and it is awesome with EQ and Vol. on the added preamp.

Brad: Seems to work ok. I tried to remove and change the placement of the pickups. It ended up ripping the adhesive off the pickup, totally, and I had to remove it from my guitar with an adhesive remover "goof off".
Lucky it wasn't a matte finished guitar or it would have left a mark.
I don't know if it was just a bad batch or not but I'm not happy with that. I only had it on the guitar for about 30 minutes before trying to remove them to change the placement on the guitar. I've heard others in the reviews say they removed and replaced it in another area or other guitar without problems. So I'm wondering if it's just a bad adhesive batch that I received. Either way be careful.

Blake Camp: Not the best sound reproduction. There are better products on the market.

Louise C. Spithaler: I've only tried one of the pickup. I put it on a 1930's parlor guitar. I put it right on the bridge. It seems to work ok but not top quality sound. I don't think I'd use it on a gig but it's kind of cool having a pickup on this old guitar. I may stick the other one on my Uke. One thing for sure. I'm not sure how I'll remove it. The stickyness is unreal. No directions on how to remove it.

Dan: I would have rated a full 5 stars, but no clear directions or discussions about installation were included when the pickup arrived. It is a simple process to install, but You need to plan your installation carefully to avoid redoing anything. The stick on adhesion can be a problem if repositioning the installed parts is required. As there is no pre-amp, it is suggested to get a good one to go along with this pickup to assist with tone control and in order to control volume remotely from your amplifier. In addition, when you order it, save some of the photos in the product description to help you visualize the installation process.

Amazon Customer: I guess I can’t be too mad because these are essentially two contact microphones for only $15, making them just $7.50 each, but wow did this underwhelm me. I saw all the amazing reviews and really thought to myself, “Maybe these are a bit better than they let on.” No, I was right to be worried, but I pressed on and bought them anyway.
First off, the reason this review is two stars instead of one, the only real positive (which could also be a negative from a certain POV): adhesion gets 5/5 because that adhesive STICKS. It’s very powerful and proved to be surprisingly difficult to remove, which is good in most cases BUT could be very detrimental to your guitar’s finish if you’re like Bam-Bam from The Flintstones and just rip it off like I tried to do with the first one. Thankfully my guitar’s finish was left intact, but I can’t promise you that yours will be, so fair warning — take the microphone off *carefully.*
Now the biggest negative and the reason this review could’ve easily been one star if not for the adhesive: the sound quality, as expected, was terrible. Not sure what other reviewers are talking about here, my guitar turned into a tinny and...

John Breton: 3D printed an open-source cello (O'Cello) for my daughter so she could have a practice instrument to use. Decided to also let her use my spare amp so she could practice with headphones, which led me to looking for an inexpensive pickup. This did the trick!
