Celticskunk: I bought this pickup because it's rails are long enough to cover the 58mm string spread of my homemade lap steel. There's was the problem of the rails being convex to follow the radius of a regular guitar neck. This made the 2 outside strings have a weaker signal than the rest. I ground the rails flat and that cured everything. This pickup sounds fantastic whether playing clean or overdriven. Highly recommended for your project.

Hier muß man also genau überlegen, ob die Balance vom Output her passt.

Wer wills wissen ;-): Negativ:

BrotherJack: EDITED Feb 2015 - revised to positive review because (read below):
I originally gave this a 2 star review because a corner bit on the plastic cover that wraps around the rails broke when i was going to install it, so I never installed it at that time. I still contend, that the plastic bits should be sturdier so as not to break when I accidentally bump pickup into pick guard while installing (it was a solid 'bump', but not anything I would have expected to break a pickup cover!). That was the substance of my original review - 2 stars, based on having never installed it.
I have since managed to super-glue the plastic bit back on and installed it in the neck position of a homebrew (ie: built from near-scratch by me) guitar. I must say, I am just ridiculously incredibly happy with how this sounds. It is AMAZING - better than any factory pickup I've played in any guitar ever. This is my new favorite budget pickup (by a mile), and I'd have to spend a whole ton more to get one I think I'd like better. I would describe the sounds (in the neck position anyway, haven't tried it anywhere else) with adjectives like thick, rich, sultry, hot, smoky, boozy, sexy, steamy, sweaty,...

Schlitze: I'm a novice to guitar repair, so if you are like me don't be afraid, it's not that hard (just need a soldering iron of course!). Just got this today and put it in a cheap mini strat. The wiring is not always the same color code apparently (i.e the photo has a yellow wire, mine didn't). I used another reviewer's instructions (Robert Johnson) and they were quite good except my wire colors were in a different order. Just know that whatever wire is connected to the shield wire is ground (my shield wire had black shrink wrap, and the other wire was green). I capped off the the other two that were wired together (in my case red and white) and the remaining wire was the hot wire and went to my switch. If you read the other reviewers instructions this will make sense. The wires are already soldered together as they should be. Now a couple of issues, and forgive me if I don't have the correct nomenclature for some of the parts:
The part of the pickup that has the holes to be screwed to the pick guard is plastic. The holes are small, and so are the screws that come with it-really small-and they almost go through the pick guard. I found two small washers and was installing them when...

Salud y R&R.
