First I though this is not working. It stayed in safe range for week and a half until I did a water change and the middle did turn green in about 10 minutes. I added a little more API quick start and stress coat.
It Stayed that way for a little bit and then went back to safe. I always check with the testing kit after a water change but when I noticed it turning green I just added a little more API quick start and stress coat and it. I'm glad I had this in case of a big ammonia spike I felt I was on top of it.

Been using these for sometime - in my reef tank.
The ammonia is SPOT on, everytime. I've had a trace amount of ammonia and detector, picked it up - allowing me to sort it out.
* remember * it works a lot better, if you take the plastic protector OFF, and then put it in your fish tank ;)

It works as a quick check between weekly water changes and water parameter checks. its not a replacement for a test kit, but it helps at a quick glance. I had to dose my aquarium with KanaPlex and after 2 rounds of treatment, the AmmoniaAlert showed me my Ammonia was up, granted it showed by 0.05. I checked with my water test kit and found that my levels were up to 1.0. The AmmoniaAlert only shows Ammonia levels in the water, but the water test kit shows a combination of both ammonia and ammonium. I believe that is were the difference in numbers comes from. I could be wrong though, like I said it works as a quick check in between water changes and water checks.

Hay que tener cuidado no tocar los círculos centrales de los medidores, y retirar el plástico protector. Lo digo porque he leído comentarios de malas lecturas de Ph o de NO3 y eso es por no seguir las instrucciones. Funciona fenomenal en mi acuario y no ha fallado con respecto a las tiras medidoras.

I must give those 5 stars. I’ve used them before, they’re extremely useful when cycling the new tank. Ph meters are accurate enough and show 7.4 in all 4 of my tanks, same as API liquid tests (I use both high and low range). I also use those in my small outdoor pond and it shows accurate 7.8, same as API. It does need up to 3 days to calibrate and show accurate result. Now ammonia, shows only the toxic free ammonia, not the total ammonia as API liquid test shows. Only free ammonia is toxic to fish. So even if you’re getting positive result on your API test doesn’t mean you’ll get the same on those alerts, unless you’ve got free ammonia in the tank. I use those alerts when I cycle my tanks and it alerts me of toxic levels of free ammonia and when to perform water change and dose Prime.

Good quality product however I didn't read it correctly because the PH is for freshwater only. I have a salt water tank and couldn't use the PH monitor. The ammonia monitor works great. Shortly after I put it in my tank my water parameters went all crazy and the monitor turned blue. It was the monitor that saved my critters because I would have not known that my tank was outta wack with out it. I was able to save all my critters and get the tank back to normal quickly when I probably wouldn't have been the wiser with out it. Too bad the PH one wouldn't work.
