rtloon: The key thing to know is that these need to be at the absolute ends of your handlebar so you can see enough past your own body and hand. My handle grips are contoured to fit my hand and their circumference at the handlebar ends is too large to fit these mirror's handlebar strap. Positioned on the handle grip at the inside end, where the strap was just long enough to work, and with the mirror twisted sideways to extend as far toward the handlebar end as possible , most of what I saw in the mirror when pointed in the correct direction was the top of my hand, my body and arm. Cars appeared from behind me only as they were closing in on me, though in the convex mirror they looked plenty far away.

crine: This mirror fits quickly and is sturdy. It does have a limited amount of view behind you unless you place it very close to the edge of the handlebar. I have mine somewhat inboard on the right side to see cars behind me at a traffic light. You can adjust it very easily (with your thumb) at a stop to see what's behind you. This was my main purpose for the purchase and I'm very satisfied. When people give a negative rating because a mirror shakes when you're riding - they need to understand that a mirror moves with the movement of the bike and consequently handlebars. There is no "magic mirror" that doesn't do this. These are great for the money and for my earlier stated purpose.

A Doc: You pretty much get what you pay for. It's cheaply made -- basically plastic with a mirror glued on it. Also, the set-up isn't very stable, as any bumps in the road may jar the mirror out of position. I usually have to reposition it a few times per ride. Having said all that, it still serves its function pretty well. It's easy to attach anywhere on the bike, and the mirror offers a rather large view. I bought a more expensive bike mirror but ended up returning it because it didn't give as large a view.
