Michael Noland: I can't rate the longivity, because I've only had it for a few weeks. Working perfectly for my home made bug trap, which is just a shaded bulb suspended over a pan of soapy water. The insects see the reflection of the light in the wate and dive right in. The soap breaks the surface tension so they can't fly out. Most insect traps have too small an opening to allow the big moths in. Plus this is silent.

J RickmanJ Rickman: These are probably the best normal shaped LED UV lights that I have used. I removed the cap from one of them though to make it brighter. The attached image is with the bulb in a lamp about 8ft from the items that are "glowing". I use this to illuminate some of my vaseline/uranium glass collection.

Figg Leotta: Inside this bulb are sixteen perfectly good UV LEDs. However, the FROSTED plastic bulb that covers said LEDs basically diffuses most of the UV effect. So, what you have here is, a funky blue light with a little bit of a blacklight effect!
Taking the plastic off, however, leaves you with a brilliant 10watt, or so, genuine UV blacklight that can be utilized in a standard screw-in light socket. I actually like the product, regardless. Still, the manufacturer would do very well to switch to a clear plastic cover, instead. One star deducted for unexpected labor ;)
