BadgerpantsBadgerpants: Used this product for a while, and it worked fine. Easy to install, had all the "features" I needed, and was perfectly capable of handling 5A@12VDC per rail.
It was being used to organize the relay breakout on my '81 Hilux, and ended up with a short between two of the terminals.
You get what you pay for, I know, and I'm sure a system that took less vibration would hold up just fine, but given I have to peel that super sticky 3M foam tape, re-drill the relay board, mount the new terminal block, and cut and splice wires as needed in 100F heat... I feel looking for a more durable unit will be money well spent.

Viola DaGamba: These are not the solid bakelite you might be expecting. Looks similar, but these are cheap plastic, and they are hollow on the back, which the photos don't show. I guess that's okay for the price. (How can genuine bakelite be so expensive?) The photos and product description that says "gold" are baloney. The plastic is black, the metal is ordinary cheap zinc plating, like every kind of cheap silvery hardware store nuts or bolts. And if you are wondering, the smallest ring terminal that will fit is a #8. #6 is too small, and #10 is oversized. These work okay, but they are cheaply made.

Amazon Customer Robert: These just came in, so durability can not be judged and I have not installed them yet but. Based on what I see so far I like these.

2 details jumped out at me right up front.

#1. The terminals have small metal plates under the screws that get clamped down by the screw. This makes it possible to just strip the wire insulation, twist the wire and stick it in and tighten it down. For extra good measure you can strip a longer section of wire and wrap it all the way around the screw.

It will also clamp down on a spade connector more evenly due to this. I mention this because the last terminal strip I bought at my local hardware store only had screws, no metal plates. I like this.

#2. The mounting screw holes on each end are recessed. This means not all of your screws may fit when you want to mount this. I want to use #8 machine screws, I have some nice stainless #8 Phillips head screws and they don't fit down in the recessed mount hole. I do have some others with flat blade heads that do fit.

This mount screw hole detail could be a detriment for you so keep it in mind. The terminal strip I bought at my local hardware store did not have recessed...

CDP's Onceagain habit of purchasing: I am installing a 12 vdc solar system in my house for emergencies and the Amico 2 Pcs 8 Position Double Row Screw Terminal Covered Barrier Strip 600V 25A from Amico is a good terminal that is priced right for an emergency use system. Costs can be keep down when the components are priced low like this terminal, but the quality has to be first when considering it's use in any electrical system. These terminals were ordered with several others and the quality is good. I worked as an electrical maintenance technician for many years and am familiar with the industry standard components and these compare well with other terminals I have seen and used in the facilities I have worked in. If they fail, break or I determine they are not worthy of the 5 star rating I've given them, I will return and change the comments and review rating.
