Rjdemarco: I have had no problems with this coffee maker so far. It makes a fine cup of coffee. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars for two nits:
1. Like other reviewers have said, the "12-cup" glass pot is small. In filling up for 12 cups, the water comes right up to the very top edge of the pot.
2. The description claims it can use a #4 (paper) filter, but you really have to squish it down into the basket to make it work. It does come with a reusable coffee holder, but I prefer paper filters -- less mess.

E.J.Stillings: Great, Simple Coffee Maker! While on our search for a new coffee maker, we first tried the cheapest we could find that was still a 12 cup. Well, it was super cheap in quality too. It dripped water all over from steam, and almost started a fire on the third use due to something with the warming plate. So, we decided to work our way up in price until we found one we liked. Ordered this one, and because it wasn't much higher in price, we didn't have super high hopes. Glad to say we were pleasantly surprised! A couple things we are particular about with coffee makers (especially after that first cheap one) - the lid has to sit in the frame, not over the frame. This is a big deal regarding the steam and whether it drips all over or not. This one has a great lid, that actually clicks down and stays down! No steam and no drips. We also didn't want stainless steel all over because it's hard to keep clean. Perfect, this one just has the front on top and bottom. Another thing is I don't like the buttons at the bottom. Luckily, this one's buttons are on the top front. I didn't want a complicated button system either. This one is super easy, and I actually didn't even have to look in the...

Inconspicuous ConsumerInconspicuous Consumer: I bought the BOSCARE 12-cup coffeemaker to replace a $10 Cooks brand fully programmable, self-filtering 12-cup coffeemaker, a J C Penney's Black Friday purchase we used so much that it wore out (a process which took ten years).
Apples to apples, but for the price, right?
Not so much.
I was surprised at how small the BOSCARE carafe looked, in comparison, but thought 'hey, designs change'. Then I was surprised at how quickly the entire pot of coffee was consumed.
It's no wonder! It's a 10-cup coffeemaker, NOT a 12-cup. Unless, of course, you want to wally-world your coffee consumption and reduce each cup you pour by an ounce while telling yourself you're drinking the same number of cups.
No, the liquid is not soaked up by the coffee grounds as is stated in the product brochure included with the machine. As you can see in the pictures, comparing the newly brewed carafe full of coffee with the actual volume of coffee after it was poured into the old carafe, it's just NOT a real, true, 12-cup coffeemaker.
Now I suppose the argument could be made that a cup, when it comes to coffee, is a relative measure since it's not 8 oz, so this is a 12-cup...

David J. Weaver: I follwed the prep instructions to run a couple pots of water through and clean.
The scoop which comes with the maker is 1tbsp. I measured it by pouring water from it into a half cup measuring cup and it took 8 scoops. Some of the coffee I bought says to use one tbsp per 6oz cup and others say to use 2 so read the coffee. I am using medium roast medium ground coffee.
The instructions say you cannot change the hour and minute while brewing. The red light is the on/off button but it also means "brewing" you need to turn off the maker (light off) in order to change the time. One more paragraph would have helped in the instructions.
I will be using this maker to brew coffee to pour directly into an insulate pump dispenser. So I turned off the maker, washed the pot and when I opened the top to remove the filter ( I added a paper filter to the regular one so it takes a little longer) the water on the spout dripped into the original reservoir and made popping sounds as water hit the hot elements. It is very steamy. Once washing was done I put the basket and filter back and propped up the lid so it could air out. The 2 holes in the back may be enough but it seems like...

Eric Goodman: This is the only coffee maker that I've ever bought over the years (and there's been several) that has lasted so long, it's been 6 years and its still going strong. I've had no issues at all. And it makes excellent Coffee! No complaints at here. Highly recommend!
