Studs for purses, it’s okay but the color is too gold, hope they will make a brass color.: This brand is really good, I made some milk fish with fermented black beans using this, be careful not to do the same mistake I did I put a lot cause I couldn’t taste it but when I let it cook more the taste come out and it made my dish salty, so I have to do adjustment, this fermented beans really have the authentic flavor I was looking for.

Eric Werme: What I was looking for: Fermented soy beans with too much salt but will keep for years in the 'fridge.
What I got: The same, but less salt.
A common dish here in Chinese restaurants in New England is Chicken (or Shrimp) with Black Beans. When I started cooking some Chinese food at home, I got some of these, but somehow they seem to have gotten harder to find at Asian grocery stores.
The last order from Amazon were too moist and actually let some mold grow after months in the refrigerator. These are the right dryness, the lower salt level means I may stop rinsing them. I don't know why there's orange peel in them, however, these are not orange flavored beans, maybe there's supposed to be a little orange peel.
On Chinese Black Beans. The ingredient list says "Black bean (soybeans)" Near as I can tell, soybeans turn black when they're fermented. And gives them an overpowering scent. Not to be used for making tofu! I ordered these after seeing "Fermented naturally under the sun." When they came, I nibbled a few to check the flavor, then saw "Cook Thoroughly."
