Client d'Amazon: Re wired an classic car all the way to installation of switches on modern cars these little connectors are just superior to the butt crimp. Fast and easy to use altought some connector seems to have less solder., Cold weather of tight space this thing is just above and beyond better than soldering.

Brittany: I can't speak to the longevity of the product, but it fixed what I needed to to, and seems to be holding. Very easy to use if you have a good heat gun.

Tim C.: I was going to give a negative review because the plastic kept melting away before the solder melted, but then I got a better heat-gun with adjustable heat. The sweet-spot seems to be around 400 degrees F where you can melt the solder without burning away the plastic. My old heat gun had a constant temp around 600F and that was just too hot. Take your time, let it warm up slowly to 400F, and all will turn out fine. I find it helps to smear some solder flux in between the wire strands before joining them in connector. This helps to pull the solder in between the strands once the solder finally melts.
Con: I really don't know why one end is narrower than the other... makes no sense to me. I end up having to use the next size up, but then the solder ring is way-too big and doesn't melt all the way sometimes. I had to remove one star for that.

Sergio Gonzalez: This definitely beats having to use soldering wire and soldering gun. It works great if you follow the instruction and do it right.
- Usee a proper heat gun.
- Medium to Mid-Hi Heat.
- stay between 4 to 6 inches from the wire and slightly move the heat from end to end to spread the heat from the soldering point and the colores plastic rings that will seal the wire making it water tight.
- do not twist the wires together, open them and mate them together in an interlocking way. This will allow the soldering to penetrate through the wires and make a secure and solid soldering.
- if you see the outer layer get dark or the soldering start to bubble, back off the heat gut. You are too close.
- you will see the soldering melt and go through the wires and also the colored plastic spread as it melts. At that point the shrink tube should have shrunk and create a tight seal.
- You are done.!! This should no take any more than 45 sec. to 1min.
-You are done!
If you twist the wires individually and twist them together the soldering will not penetrate. If you are too close, concentrating the heat in one spot or heat gun is to close, you will either burn the...

wonderboy1974: My god these things are the best invention mankind has ever come up with. Seriously whoever invented these should have a statue made of them and put in every town in the country.
If you do any kind of tinkering or electronic repair, or just like to mess with stuff you NEED these in your life. I’ve been a tinkerer all my life, I like nothing more than fixing and messing with electronics and have been soldering for about 30 years but these are a game changer. Just strip the ends of the wires and push each end into the correct size tube and heat with whatever you use, I use a gas powered Dremmel portable soldering iron. The solder strip in the middle melts and solders the wire and the 2 seal rings shrink and seal the wires from water. The joint is amazingly strong when done right and is very neat.
These are great to use in tight places when you don’t have much room like when your working on a vehicle.
I absolutely love these and will always have them in my tool kit from now on.
