Sara S: I love glitter nail polish but hate removing it. I found these were the easiest way to clamp on cotton pad around my nails to allow them to soak. They stay on better than tin foil (and are reusable too.) Five minutes later, my old polish has been melted away! I usually like to do one hand at a time though.

Charnelle Williams: Only reason it's not 4 stars for me is, because it's not a fully encompassing clip (there's spaces open to air), the 100% acetone I used which they say to use to remove gel polish kept evaporating quickly before it could effectively soak off the layers of polish I used. So in total, 45 minutes sitting with these one with soaked cotton balls. I did 20 minutes, checked and it didn't soak off much, so I had to do another 25 minute round with them on, and having to re-wet the cotton pads with more acetone between the 2 rounds. Even after 45 minutes, they gel didn't just slide off, I had to scrape the residue off my nails. Therefore I wouldn't buy these if I had known it would go that way. That's why they use foil at the nail shop, because the nails need to be FULLY covered for a while for them to SOAK off.
My suggestion, if you have the patience to foil your own nails, it's worth the aggravation bc with these clips be prepared for a much longer time to remove gel nails. And I'm guessing then that these DEFINITELY WON'T work to remove acrylics. The best thing about these is the ease of putting them on and off since they're clips.

TylerTyler: Nice, easy to use clips. I do one hand at a time to make it easier but it comes with 10 so you could do both hands together if you wanted to. The acetone takes off the 'nail' writing on the plastic (see middle finger in first pic) but that doesn't change how well they work! Holds the soaked cotton ball against my nail very nicely without being too tight for my 20-30 min soaks to remove gel polish.

EDIT TO ADD - some gels I need to soak for longer than 30 min. Been months and these are holding up great! I added a 4th photo to show my nail length inside the clip as a reference. Could use with even longer nails for sure!

A.Natalee: When I ordered these, I thought they were just the caps to hold the cotton in place for gel removals. It turned out that these are actual caps that you can soak in acetone to remove the polish, sans cotton.
Personally I used them still with the cotton, I didn't have enough acetone to soak them completely. They didn't particularly work as well this way, the clips squeezed most of the acetone out of the cotton. The clips also pinched really hard on my nail so it was an uncomfortable pressure.

I haven't used them a second time yet, but I will try them with soaking of the actual clip and leave an updated review!

Mimi: I was hesitant to buy this because I have very small hands. I weigh 90 pounds and wear a size 4 ring. I was worried they'd be to large. They aren't! I've been using them for a few month now and have had no issues. Fit tightly (but are not uncomfortably tight) Those who say they leak are using too much remover. I use cotton rounds cut in half (cotton balls leave far too much cotton behind) I hold them up the soak off bottle and apply one tilt of the bottle. I soak all 10 and apply the semi rounds inside of the clips and then put them on my fingers. Much easier to apply this way instead of soaking one, wrapping finger, clipping and repeating.

The length of time needed depends on the brand of soak off and polish you use. I leave mine on 10-15 minutes with my heating pad on my hands. Comes off well.

Make sure and wash these with soap and water and clip on something to air dry. (I use a towel) because the plastic is slightly corroded with acetone.
