I know the reviews here are mixed, but I DO NOT recommend this item or the vendor. I will give serious thought to buying from 3rd party vendors after this. I give this item 1 star for quality and 1 star for the vendor (Best Choice Products) that sold it.
It lasted all of 2 months, and coincidentally, 1 day past the 60 day warranty is when it actually broke, or at least malfunctioned to where I realized it was broken. This, however, does not represent the actual days of use, since that is more like 8 days of limited use (only when BBQing), and probably closer to 16 total hours worth of use. I was actually putting it down after use and the shade came flying off and hit the ground. I never left it open after use.
I did contact the vendor and provided the pictures included here today. I was asked for the order number and told about the 60 day warranty. I responded and never heard another word. I sent a 2nd email and nothing. I know, it was the 61st day and the warranty was 60 days. Maybe a little goodwill here?
PROS: It does (well, it did) actually provide shade
CONS: Quality, vendor support/communications, warranty period, falls over...

Ken Stillson:
Covers a large area, looks very nice, swivel arm allows it to work well at several different angles and heights.
Two things to keep in mind- (1) the umbrella part is on a gimble, meaning that it swivels very easily. Even a slight breeze causes the umbrella to sway quite a bit; this is a bit disconcerting at first. (2) The unit is quite top-heavy; as provided it will stand up by itself, but it tips over incredibly easily- you need to also purchase some sort of weight system to hold down the base (Amazon sells several; I got one for $40 that you fill with sand. Even with that, it has fallen over once in a stiff wind, although it wasn't damaged.)
But overall this looks fantastic and covers a generous area, and I consider it an excellent value for the money.

Very nice umbrella but the base leaves much to be desired. The first week and the first wind blew the tent over and the base bent. I had it weighed down with large concrete stones, (4 of them) and 4 concrete bricks. I thought that would be enough for a large wind. The wind wasn't a big wind, it was nothing much. I painfully returned the stand to the upright position and it leans, due to the base being bent and it leans to one side.
Umbrella is hard to put up as well. I don't know if it's top or bottom heavy but I have been fighting with this thing for a couple of weeks now. I would send it back, but it's such a large item I'd prefer to try and make it work, at least the top umbrella section. The fabric seems to be quite sturdy and very nice quality.
I have very mixed feelings about the quality because it may have been my fault by not putting enough weight to hold it down. I wonder what is enough?

Ori: After reading many reviews for many different offset umbrellas I ran across some horrible ones and some that were looking better though the prices for the "good ones" were about $30 to $80 and I don't want to even start talking about the fancy $300-$400 umbrellas that I wasn't even considering. I was not expecting this to be the best quality umbrella and was wondering if it's going to be any good and was surprised to find out its actually a great umbrella for the very low price. Opening and closing it is easy and takes no time without the need to use any force or needing to lift any heavy weight. The umbrella is covering a large area the fabric is thin but does block the sun well and this umbrella looks great in my backyard. The base is not heavy enough to hold it especially if it's windy. I've been seeing pictures of people who attached the umbrella to many different things securing it from falling / tipping over and eliminating the base that comes with it. I saw some reviews that showed broken parts which I can see how such a thing can happen especially if using too much force that isn't needed, another reason is if the umbrella is kept uncovered and the sun...

Evadman: After reading reviews for this umbrella and a bunch of similar ones, I settled on getting this umbrella from best choice. It is about what I expected, not super well made but works okay. It moves around a lot in even the slightest breeze. Almost all the fittings are plastic, and they flex a lot so I don't think they are going to last beyond the end of the season.
The fabric of the umbrella itself seems sturdy though, so if the stand breaks, I can mount the umbrella on a replacement metal stand. That was honestly my plan from the beginning; replacing most of it in a year, so I a not taking away from the rating. If you are expecting this umbrella to last a while without modifications, I suggest you look elsewhere.
