1.7L Glass Electric Hot Water Kettle - 1500W Fast Heating for Tea and Coffee Brewing

J: Faster than my old kettle. The wide top makes it easy to clean. Initially thought the LEDs were unnecessary, but they make it apparent when it's done from across the room. Haven't had the rusting issue others have seen, but I only have water in it when it's being used.

Sandra: Different temperatures have different color LED light that lights up in water. Just using the power button and not selecting temperature has water come to a rolling boil. Can choose multiple Temps so water is at a drinkable temp. Allows for multiple cups of water to be heated at once! Looks nice too!

Heather J. Zager: I fought with this kettle for a couple of months. I loved it for it's clean design, fast heating and pretty lights, what I didn't like is that it refused to have a consistent connection with the base. I would twirl it all around, slam it down and play with the water level, but nothing was working. Finally, I picked it up out of frustration and noticed that if I applied pressure to the middle of the base, the connection was perfect! So I took a round, "magic slider" felt pad and stuck it under the center bit and it works flawlessly all the time!

royc10: This pot is a replacement for an earlier pot that did all the same things and more. I'll start by saying that it appears that there has been a reduction in features available across the product lines and is not exclusive to this particular unit. My rating is based on a comparison with a previous unit, which I still have. Please note that the description on Amazon IS correct. Just read it carefully to determine if it is what you are looking for.

Unit does everything it says and has the multi-color lights that indicate the mode it is in. It holds 1.7L of water and will bring it to a boil or to a couple of lower temperatures using the presets in the handle. Handle shape is better than some that are curved and is easier on the wrist than some. It boils water quickly, but not particularly faster than any other boiler that is rated at 1500 watts. The controls in the handle are sort of neat and allows the boiler to have a smaller footprint than ones with the controls in the base. Base contacts are covered by a push-up spring-loaded door. DO NOT PUSH THIS DOWN WHILE PLUGGED IN. There is a ineffective "screen" in the lip, mainly to help control the flow...

Wombat37: I was looking for a glass kettle with variable temperature settings and a fast heating element. There's a actually not a lot of choice and this was by far the cheapest.

I was concerned that the quality would not be good for the price but I took the risk and have found that it's much better than expected.

A kettle either works or it doesn't - it can't really half work. This one does work and is very reliable.

Things I liked
- Glass walls
- Different colored LED for different temperatures (yes, this was found to be useful)
- Simple 2-button keypad that was simple to set up
- Keep hot feature
- Dry kettle protection
- Low cost

Things I didn't like
- Flimsy lid. It's made from thin plastic and looks easy to break
- There's a weak mechanism to hold the lid open when filling. This is already starting to fail and filling the kettle is now starting to need three hands.
- The lid doesn't open fully so it's not easy to clean.

At the moment the lid concerns are not a big issue but could be later.

Is it worth the money - yes!
