Frank Candelori: Overall, I'm quite satisfied with its performance. There are several aspects of this mat that I really appreciate, although there is one minor concern worth mentioning.

On the positive side, the thickness of the mat provides excellent cushioning and support, which is crucial during longer yoga sessions or when practicing poses that require more balance. The high-density foam feels comfortable and protects my joints well, even on hardwood floors. The grip is impressive too – I feel confident that I won't slip during my practice, even when I'm sweating.

The durability of the mat is also worth noting. It has held up well to regular use and shows no signs of wearing out or tearing. The closed-cell construction seems to resist moisture, which is a plus since I tend to sweat a lot during my practice.

However, my one minor concern is the thickness. While the 1/4" thickness provides excellent cushioning, it also makes the mat slightly bulkier when rolled up for storage. This can be a bit inconvenient if you're traveling or carrying it around frequently. It's not a dealbreaker, but it's something to keep in mind.

A. Lag: This is a great mat for yoga practice. The rubber isn’t too squishy and it isn’t too thin. I was looking to replace my 20 year old, worn-through yellow mat that I bought at a Midwest Yoga Retreat in the early 2000’s (remember that??!!) I don’t love this one as much as I loved my old mat, but this one is darn close. I gave it a quick bath to wash off any coatings (or whatever) from the manufacturing process and it has been a great non-slip mat. It shipped quickly and arrived in good condition.

Be Dance: I purchased two of these mats, keeping one and using one as a Christmas presents. The mats are a nice, medium thickness. We have found them wide enough and long enough; I am 5’ 3” tall and my friend is 5’ 8” tall. They are good about rolling out and laying flat. Our feet have not slipped on the mats.. I would definitely purchase one again, as a ‘once a week’ Pilates mat.

Victoria: So far, I really like it.

When I first got it it had that layer of slippery that most of these mats have and a slight "new" smell, also typical, in my experience, with mats made of this material. Given that I was in no rush to use it, it stood in a corner rolled loosely for a couple of weeks, and by the time I stretched it out on my befroom floor and started walking on it and using it at home (to get rid of the slippery before I used it at the studio), the smell was gone. My palms tend to sweat a lot and the first few times I used it at home I had to dry my hands every so often, but the slippery layer didn't take long to go away (I used it for my home practice maybe four times before I took it to the studio). I didn't wash it.

If you're in a hurry to use it as soon as you get it, it's likely that you'll find it slippery and that the mat will still have that "new" smell that bothers some people, but if you can, I recommend letting it air for a few days (probably doesn't need to be as long as I let it).

The 6.2mm is just perfect. I would have been content with 5mm, but I like the 6.2mm a lot! It's cushion enough that knees don't hurt when kneeling, but also...
