K. Mattix: I bought this elastic to make lamb blankets for a friend and it was great for that. The elastic is structured, has good pull, but isn't too soft. I would absolutely buy this again and if you were sewing a casing this elastic would be fine. Just not next to skin soft for sewing directly to a garment.

Elad: I am using this to tie up tomato vines after seeing it on a video. Great idea! But, these are a bit TOO 'bungee' and if you pull them tight or secure a tight knot it will break. It is holding up the vines, allows some freedom of movement to prevent vines from snapping in the wind or under load, but a heavy vine will stretch it past its breaking point. I wouldn't use it to secure anything heavy. For use in clothing it would be awesome. For garden use; a sort of o.k.

Haleth: I needed EXACTLY this product. After much searching, I still wasn't sure what would arrive, because so many Amazon listings say both knit _and_ braided (or neither). Yes, there's a difference. Reading Amazon reviews didn't help in this case, because some product pages are just confusing to everybody, and some customers don't know why they didn't get what they expected.

I use knit elastic for face shields with straps that go around the head, instead of ear loops. It's strong, but less chunky - much easier to securely sew through multiple layers. Knit will unravel from one end, but only if you pull the wrong strings, and it doesn't FRAY. This means my straps will stay where they're sewn in, and take a lot of wash and wear, without having to leave a half inch on the inside of the mask. Knit gets thinner instead of narrower when stretched, so it's more comfortable and stays where it's put on the head, even if the elastic is used alone, without a casing. Had this been braided, it would have been of no use to me.

I've not measured the contents of the spool for length, lol... and it'll be awhile before I know if it's really 50 yards. Right now, I'm just happy this product...
