Gadgetguy: Certainly an excellent rice cooker. The rice is much easier to eat once it's cooked :) I wish the rice cooker would be a bit cheaper though.

McBobMcBob: My Zojirushi NS-LAC05 never disappointed in the many years I’ve had it and still works fine but this model intrigued me so decided to bite the price bullet and give it a shot. That was seven months ago and zero regrets. I really like Sukoyaka Brown Rice-Genmai, made using the GABA setting. It always comes out perfect and delicious and with the timer the 3+ hour cooking time is pretty easy to deal with. Steel Cut Oats come out great too. I eat a lot of both now. My old one can’t make GABA Brown Rice at all so this is a game changer, and measuring marks and a dedicated setting for steel cut oats makes preparing them significantly easier now. It was 3X what the other one cost but gets 10X the use and lives on the counter as the most used small appliance I own. Cleaning is pretty easy. A few ounces of water in the bowl, couple drops dish detergent and stir with a nylon bristle bottle brush and swish it around the top and bottom of the inner lid, rinse and done. However, If you don’t eat rice or steel cut oats very often the expense may not be worth it for you.

Ian: We bought this rice cooker for my wife and i. we wanted to eat gaba rice. rather than spend a lot of money on buying gaba rice in a bag, this lets you use inexpensive brown rice and get the health benefits of gaba rice. not to mention the taste... this rice cooker makes exceptional rice. we've made jasmine white, gaba brown, medium grain white, and jade rice with this so far. never to dry, to wet, always just right. really worth it.

Amazon Customer: Had the induction heating one for 10 years and had to replace the inner bowl and all sounds stopped working. Then upgraded to the induction pressure cooker and I can taste the difference between the two, I do eat rice everyday so for me it's all worth it.

Wolfsky: I think when you get the pressurized model you have more limitations than the more basic models on what you can cook. I would like to cook old fashion oat meal but they only recommend steel cut outs.

Daeljuck Shin: If you love rice, get this. So just for reference, my wife and I eat rice pretty much every other day of the week. Because of this, I didn't want to skimp out on a rice cooker. Zojirushi is a reputable brand, and so at first we went with the Zojirushi NP-HCC10XH Induction Heating System Rice Cooker. However, for $200ish more, you can get this one, which has pressure in addition to induction heating. I know some people might think spending $500 on a rice cooker is silly, but I have no regrets whatsoever. The rice is just perfect. Better than most restaurants even. After reading many reviews, I heard theres not a substantial difference between this rice cooker and the purely just induction model. However, theres a HUGE difference. It might just be because I'm a rice lover, but I can immediately tell that the rice is fluffier and the taste is definitely noticeable. Now, the induction model makes good rice. But this pressure + induction model makes GREAT rice. I would 100% recommend to any household that regularly makes rice. You do have to clean an extra part after each cook (the pressure gasket) which can be annoying, but it comes off fairly easily and it just...

Messier11: Excellent at what It does. Each grain is an individual cooked to perfection.

Not the best for a meal in a pot.

Steel cut oats - the best.

Connorj: I live and die by my Zojirushi rice cooker. When the inner pot of my 10 year old NP-HBC10 finally started to give up its coating, I went to get a replacement pot. Out of Stock. OH NO. Yeah, no living without my rice cooker. So I did what any rational person would do and blew $525 schmackos on the flagship pressure cooker model. Like, really...who wouldn't? ;)

Now, in truth, I had been eyeballing this one for a long time, but really couldn't see my way to paying prime dollars for a new rice cooker when my existing one was working just fine. But, inner pot out of stock was all the excuse I needed. Even then, I hesitated over the price a bit. Then I did it anyway.

I AM NOT SORRY. At all. I'd buy it again.

This thing is great. I use it mainly for regular ole rice and steel cut oats. I cook A LOT of rice. The occasional foray into mixed rice. Multiple times a week. It's hard for me to explain, but the results are better than ever. Texture, taste. Amazing. I made some saffron turmeric curried rice in it that was to die for. Sort of a riff on Sri Lankan yellow rice. It was awesome.

I almost knocked a star off because the price is steep. It...

Kin Goku Kai: I know it’s not fair to give 3 stars for an item which I only used 2 times. I’m rating it based on the presets I used so far.
As of now, I only used umami and rinse free presets, and the results were mediocre. I tried umami without rinse free, the rice was a little chewy (hard) and fluffy. But when combined umami + rinse free. The total cooking time was 77 instead of 74 with just umami preset. The result was mushy and wet. The rice grain was broken and sticky.
Next time I will try white rice setting with regular, then soft, and finally hard. I will update this review with every preset I can experiment with.
This is the top of the line rice cooker by Zojirushi, so it should be perfect!

The rice I tested throughout this trial is Japanese short grain rice

1st update: I measured the cup ratio 1:1 with the filter water and the rice turned out mushy and sticky. Grains were broken.

2nd update: This time I used regular white presets only. The rice was tough and chewy. Not quite there yet!

SUCCESS! 3rd update: I measured 2 cups of white rice with umami preset. Make sure the water is measured to the marking on the pot. Because my...
