I Love Books: The little semicircular bar that held the handle for our 2 person LL Bean kayak broke within 2 weeks of our buying it new. LL Bean used to be great about fixing their products. As many people have found recently, their service has gone way downhill. They just told me to look online for replacements. Really! So I got this kit, installed it quickly, and now we can lift our kayak from both ends once again.

Gabor Heppes: The handle is sturdy enough and the cord is of good strength. However, make sure that the knots are secure, as the simple overhand knots at the end of the cords looked like could slip, so I retied them, with a little more of the end sticking out. The cord is too short to tie a figure eight at the end, which would otherwise be my preferred method.
