AmyMac: This harness is nice and sturdy, and easy to get on and off, but beware it's not actually escape proof. Both of my kitties are flexible enough to squeeze themselves out of it backwards if they're really motivated, but they love to spend time lounging on the porch and I use this for their safety, and it works just fine as long as they're supervised.

AydinAydin: Yulaf, my Ragdoll is strictly an indoor cat, but I bought this to use during our travels. I thought I would definitely need a harness when I need to take him off the carrier in the airport.

I bought the XL size because my cat is already 15 lbs, even before he is one year old. Maybe I could go one size smaller, and then the velcro would sit better on top of each other. Although he can still grow bigger, I didn't return it and buy a smaller size.

Yulaf is not so experienced with Houdini acts; he tries to escape, but he can't get his arm out. So your cat could be better at it and escape this one too, but in my opinion, this harness is very close to what you call "escape-proof".

In addition, it looks very cute and adorable on him!

Charlotte A. Ertelt: It fits my small grown cat. She didn't like it but got more use to it. I bought it getting ready to take her on a trip. I left it on for about 5 days, but eventually had to take it off as she was too depressed to do anything but sleep, crawl to eat and drink, etc. But it may do the job. Going to try her on a leash instead of in a carrier to travel.

Helen Rose: Finally, I can walk my cat and feel confident that he can't escape if he tries to pull himself backwards. This little vest has a strong valcro grip and it works amazingly well. It's beautiful too.

Lindy: I ordered this for my neighbour’s cat and it’s been a hit. Nicely made, comfortable. A 10 ft leash would make this product better.

Rowbear: Firstly, don't expect your cat to not escape from this. If your cat really wants to get out, they will get out of any harness you put on them. This harness takes me less than 10 seconds to put on my cat and sometimes faster. It's off in 5 seconds. Velcro is the answer and it holds really well. Size matters, I found that it was difficult to gage what size really fits. Luckily I have 3 cats and all 3 are different sizes. My really fat cat fit into the large one and I found that if the Velcro was longer, it would have been perfect. So I put more Velcro on it and now it is perfect. Cats are in and out of these in seconds with virtually no struggle and for that reason I am in.

Amazon Customer: From my perspective: Fits well. I bought the small and medium because he's about 8 pounds and either one fits, but the smaller one fits him best. Seems sturdy enough and it didn't break the bank, plus it's camo! Great for a beginner adventure kitty, right? He seemed to know it was for him when I pulled it from the box and rubbed it a little. Then I, with apparent malice aforethought and harboring secret dreams of destroying his autonomy placed it on him and velcroed him up. I put him on his feet and he splatted to the ground on his side. We were in for a test of wills.

He spent some time deciding if I meant him fatal harm and came to the incorrect conclusion that I did mean to kill and probably eat him, even though there was never any clue he felt that way until now. With his belly touching the ground he bolted about 10 feet and then it looked like he was wrestling an imaginary dragon, Mehmet I assume. It may be that the red dragon helped him get out of the harness, because get out he did, then moved under a car. Hilarity ensued. Finally caught and (omg) hissing at me he took a deep breath to make it more difficult to harness him, but I had learned the way of the horse many...

Anders BeerAnders Beer: This harness was the first one that my cat actually tolerated. When he wants to go out, he actually leads me over to it and paws at it. There is almost no resistance when putting it on, and he generally seems to behave as if he isn't wearing a restraint.

Previous harness I tried were those T or H style minimal harnesses, which appear to be less confining, but in fact made my cat behave as if he were in a straight jacket: He'd freeze up and lay on his side.

The one problem with this vest style harness, is that my cat can escape from it if he gets spooked. Don't judge the product too harshly for this though, it's probably impossible to make an escape proof cat harness that doesn't make your cat so confined they can't move.

A cats skin is pretty loose around their collar as it is, and with lots of soft silky fur, nothing is really going to completely prevent the reverse escape. This is just the way their anatomy is and the best thing you can do is just make sure you keep a close eye on your cat, and don't let them get too far from you.

I am really fortunate, as my cat does not seem to have the instinct to completely run away once he's out of the harness....
