Sam: While this is a very nice reminder to not get attached to this worldly life, I felt that the book repeated the same idea over again just in a few different ways.
I may have expected too much, but I wish there were more details in regards to certain topics.

Eg.: A woman’s empowerment comes through the history of how the Prophet saws empowered us through Islam. Not just by realizing that we shouldn’t compete with men. A woman’s empowerment is also not just the shallowness of what we wear, but our education, our rights, etc.

I still give her 4 stars because I think this is a good starting point and still an important message that also needs to be delivered

Erica Leigh Durian: The subtitle "Personal Insight on Breaking Free from Life's Shackles" is a good description of this book. It is inspiring and it offers hope, based upon the author's experiences and reflections. Many may be compatible with your own; some may not. I most enjoyed the section "Women's Status," for example; even though I do not 100% agree with the author's take, it still inspired me and reminded me that I don't need to conform to Western society's expectations and standards, that I just need to be true to my faith.
