Skypilot 18: The piano was delivered today. Exactly on time from a delivery company in Las Vegas per Amazon. The packaging was exceptional and undamaged. Assembly took about 35 minutes and required only a Phillips screwdriver. The initial assessment is above expectations.

Amazon Customer: Yamaha support tells me I purchased a piano produced with 2017 technology. I have been unable to make any wireless connection with the piano, having tried the Yamaha UDWL01 device and the Yamaha UD-Bt01 device. I am waiting for a USB cable and Apple camera connector to try connecting to Internet and use the Yamaha "Smart Piano" app with the YDP-184. The piano was purchased as a gift for my wife to learn piano on and I wanted her to have access to all available aids in the learning process from our home thru internet and useful interactive applications. I am very disappointed with the purchase and feel very mislead by the Amazon seller offering such outdated products at current model pricing, and at Yamaha for a great deal of misinformation both online and in the Owners Manual supplied with the YDP-184 piano, which all indicate it has the ability to make wireless connections, but Yamaha support says the one I have does not have their updated firmware that includes those capabilities.

DaMoHe: It’s beautiful and you pay for what you get, I think is perfect for me since I’m intermediate and live on a third floor. Would recommend cheaper and lighter if you are a beginner. I would have wanted heavier keys.

Lola W.: After having to scrap our old piano (it was my sister's which made it difficult to part with) I decided to opt for the digital Yamaha and am thrilled with it. I was concerned about possible damage because there were a couple good holes in the outer box, but it was protected by inner packing. NO DAMAGE! Great packaging. Took a little while to assemble the piano but we couldn't be happier. Two people were able to easily lift the top and assemble it with no difficulty. The case is a nice rosewood coloring, clean lines, solid. The electronics were very simple to assemble. Love the key cover, pedals are well supported. The key action is just like a "real" piano and I absolutely love playing it. The various "sounds" are perfect, even have your very own choir, perfect! I did purchase headphones so now every member of the family can play, plink, learn, without disturbing. We love the piano. Yamaha, you continue to amaze. Thank you!

S. Dawes: I've waited most of my years for the opportunity to sit at a grand piano, but the chances always seemed to elude me.
Purchasing the real thing was certainly out of the question, not only because of the price, but because I live in a small apartment.

Yamaha to the rescue! Somehow, someway, they managed to squeeze a 9-foot concert grand into this space-saving unit, and I am completely amazed by the tone and clarity it produces. This YDP-103 model is one of the least expensive of Yamaha's line of instruments, but I can't imagine the realistic sound being any better. Possibly when you pay more for other models you're getting more furniture supporting and surrounding the keyboard, but I don't think my ears would be able to tell the difference in the actual quality of tone.

It arrived well-packed, and was quite easy to assemble. I'm still discovering its many functions, and I expect that to be an enjoyable learning process. In the meantime, if the only sound it ever produced was the authentic beauty of a masterfully crafted 9-foot concert grand, it would still be more than worth the money. This is simply one of the best purchases I've ever made in my life!
