Just Me: I've been building a welding cart, and since I'm just getting back into TIG welding after 30+ years, I have a lot of welds to grind off. I've used the slop out of the disk and it's still going strong, so I'm pleased with the longevity. After the welding cart I'm going to start welding on a stripper pole I'm making for my rotund great aunt. I need to make it out of super thick steel pipe because she keeps bending the store-bought ones when she does that flying jump mount from across the room. At 315 pounds, that women can tilt the planet when she hits, so I have to lay in a lot of welds. These flap discs will be great for that. Wish me luck, and the poor pole too.

Popeye.Tom: I've been working on an older sailboat bottom. I've only used 1 40 grit so far and done a fair amount of work with it. The disk has remained effective and not loaded up with junk. I will know more as I continue to use it.
I'd usually use "paint buster" fiber-back discs with a rubber backing pad for grinding fiberglass. Usually the flapper discs are what I use on metal when fabricating and welding. The only think I'm not sure is if these will wear the fabric backer enough on the fiberglass to reveal new abrasive, but so far, I'm finding this first disc very effective and long lived.
