I tried ordering a medium, and it fit perfectly. Actual waistband size measured at 31". It worked great --with the ties you can take in a fair amount of loose fabric in the waist, which was great for me. I wore it at my natural waist. The fabric on the medium had just a little stretch, which was NOT true of the small. Overall, I think there are just significant quality control issues with this skirt. If you order it for something specific, give yourself enough time to return it and order a different size if necessary. My experience with the medium is 5 stars, and the small is 2 stars. Rounding up to 4 because the medium is a great skirt.

Sooo...per the many other reviews, this runs small. How small? Well, when I measured the waist on the size small skirt I received, it was 26 inches. The waist measurement in the size chart for the small is 29". I am not entirely sure who did math and decided that a 26 inch garment would fit someone with a 29 inch waist, but they should probably redo that math.
Anyway, for reference, my natural waist is 27", mid-hip is 29.5", hip is 38". I am 5'7" with a short torso and 130lbs, ordered a size small initially. Now...

Emma Jewell: Definitely take some measurements if you ate unsure. If I hadn't lost weight from being ill then it would had been perfect but I have a plan to do work on it with my sewing machine. The dress is beautiful and feels great, it is flowing and compliments my complexion.

Peggy: I bought this skirt thinking that I would wear it in October at some point but ended up wearing it more so in November.

What I love:
What I love about this skirt is the length, the easy to re-tie bow, and the lightweight fabric. The hems are cleanly sewn, too (I've seen some skirts that just cut off at the bottom, and this is definitely not one of those), which is a huge plus! Also, don't worry about the underneath too much because you will not see through this fabric. I wore leggings under it with gold, glittering stars all over, and nothing peaked through.

What I disliked:
What I disliked about this product is that the fabric is not easy to de-wrinkle (though it is difficult to add more wrinkles). Something about it just keeps the way it was folded in the box to an odd degree. Prior to wearing it, I steamed it, and when that didn't work, I ironed it. Because the fabric is lightweight, I didn't use too high a heat with the iron, but still was shocked at how little the initial wrinkles were to fade. Washing it and drying it was the only way to significantly impact the folded marks--removing the majority of said folds in the first wash/dry and the rest in the...

Big Rock Labradoodles: Order 3 sizes up...but only goes to XL. I wear a medium pretty consistently..XL is still too small. Otherwise would have been a great skirt.

Nikole: This is a gorgeous and well made skirt with extremely beautiful drape and classic drape. However it runs two sizes too small - I normally wear a medium 6/8 but ordered a large which did not fit. When I sized up to extra large it finally fit, I weigh 138lbs, stand 5’6”, and my measurements are 37A-32-35.5”. According to their chart a large should have fit but definitely did not and their is no stretch.
