Rita: I don't know why I'm reviewing this because Amazon probably doesn't sell it anymore. They don't seem to sell a lot of good quality products anymore.. so this coat is really cute really well made really comfortable and keeps me warm. It's well worth the price. I wear it in the snow with long underwear and a shirt. I washed it in a washing machine on gentle and dried it on low in the dryer. It came out like new. I didn't wash the hood because it says to do that separately because of the fur lining. The furlining looks great. I just haven't tried to wash it yet. I think you have to spot clean it .

Angie: I came into this expecting something different than what I got...

I am a long time fan of Lands End jackets. I have a blue down jacket that I purchased from them over 10 years ago and I still wear it and love it. However that jacket was a goose down jacket, and over time the feathers have come out little by little, and I've ripped a hole in it (which I patched up with some clear nail polish) and it just doesn't keep me warm in that really cold weather like it used to. I came into this looking for another heavy jacket that can handle the super cold negative degree weather that we sometimes get in New England, and my 10 year old jacket used to be able to handle no problem but doesn't anymore. I sometimes go snowmobiling in cold weather and need a jacket that can handle that kind of cold activity. This is not the jacket for that.

First, It is much lighter than my older jacket (even though it is longer.) The heaviest thing about this jacket is the fir trim on the hood that DOES NOT COME OFF. You have to take the entire hood off and cannot take (what feels like) the 1lb fir trim off the hood at all.

Sam: LOVE THIS JACKET. I've been on the hunt for a reasonably priced jacket ever since I saw the kickstarter for North Aware's "Inspector Gadget" jacket. I loved the concept of their jacket, but was not about to pay $$$$$ for it.

Know that it takes about 5 minutes for it to puff up once out of the package. I was slightly disappointed when I first opened it and saw how flat it was only to forget it had been vacuumed sealed and it made of down...D'oh.

FEATURES:

While this jacket has only 3 pockets, they are generously sized (2 inseam zippered/fleece lined pockets on the outside for hands, one interior pocket with a snap that is DEEP).

Soft elastic interior sleeve cuffs. Nice touch and keeps there from being a draft between your gloves and arm.

The double zipper feature is something this jacket has ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ , though I'm not sure when I'll use it. I've never been one of those people to put on a jacket and walk around without it zippered or buttoned all the way up. (Why wear the jacket? Do you love drafts? So many questions.)
