Jill ThayerJill Thayer: These are gorgeous! They totally brighten up my black hole of a fireplace that I rarely use. I may add some tealights or candles on a special occasion but they look great as is. The logs all look beautiful and are sized just as described. I wish I had done this years ago.

Suzeanna: I don't use my wood-burning fireplace, opting for the Duraflame Electric DFI030ARU Infrared Quartz Set Heater with Realistic Ember Bed and Logs (available on Amazon) for supplemental heat and ambiance during cold weather here in Dallas (Jan-Mar). I decorated the ugly empty black grate at Christmas with a small bundle of 4-5 small birch limbs (approx 1-2" thick and 12-14" long) that I found at Target for $20. It was an improvement, but appeared really tiny in that big, black fireplace opening. I saw photos of beautiful fireplace arrangements of larger birch logs decorated with fairy light strands on Pinterest and decided to try to recreate that look. These logs from Amazon are hefty, clean and gorgeous and they make a big statement. I arranged them in the old grate and wrapped them with 1 strand of 100 plug-in fairy lights that I found Etsy. With very little effort, the resulting look by day is a big improvement over that black hole, appearing clean and modern (the light strands are invisible) and ready for lighting. Caroline: I ordered these logs for my husband for his birthday. He used to have some that had been passed down to him by his mother after his father died. A friend of his father's had brought them back to him after a hunting trip in Minnesota and they had stayed in their fireplace for many years as decoration. Well, during an ice storm in 1972 when we had no heat or power and my husband was at work I burned the logs (a beautiful fire, I might say). He was so disappointed when he got home from work (where it was nice and warm) and found that I had burned the logs. When I saw these logs on Amazon after a quick search, I recognized them as just like the ones I had burned. So, of course, it was a no-brainer! They were delivered quickly and in beautiful shape and he is thrilled! They now have pride of place in a basket beside our fireplace and my husband is so happy!
