michaelforrest: This is my 5th or 6th book by WKK and I just love his writing, sensibilities, sensitivities, detail and, of course, his ability to spin a yarn that pulls you in, touches you, surprises you and most importantly, keeps you interested. The characters make this story great and Odie above all else is the heart, soul and thrust of this adventure. If you enjoy a good story and can still be moved by beauty and filled with wonder, give this a chance.

Jean J: This book kept my interest from the beginning to the end. Characters were well developed and distinctive. Not a true story but very well could have been. Loved some of the history talked about in the book. Some great twist and turns especially at the end. Would definitely recommend reading this book.

I’m not sure I have the words for how much I loved this beautifully written literary masterpiece! It made me cry and it made me smile… I felt for so many of the characters, I hoped, I worried, I pondered, I cheered for their triumphs, I wanted to reach through the pages and give them a warm hug…This tender, powerful story pulled at my heartstrings and is one of my favourite reads of 2022
This Tender Land is heartfelt, graceful, heroic, tense, hopeful, inspiring, sad and beautiful, it is simply stunning and is a story I will not forget… I already miss the characters. It is a truely magical coming of age story set during the hard times of the Great Depression and is filled with humble, brave, and down to earth characters who I cared about deeply. Please add this to your reading list, you absolutely must!!
