Jamal: The digital display on the fridge said "replace filter" so I bought the original brand named one. I installed it, it worked fine but maybe 7 months later I get the "replace filter" notice again. And that thing was expensive!! So I decided I'd try these (not sure if generics or knock offs is the right term) which are much cheaper cause this 6 pack cost about the same as what I paid for one brand named filter, if ya can believe it. If I get 5 months outta one of these and no change in water quality I'm satisfied. Will ammend review at such time

S: Changed the filter at long last, and noticed a very big difference, I no longer use a Brita filter, so convenient being able to get purified water from the fridge. Explanation for installation is clear, I did it myself, and am not particularly handy. This generic version saved me at least 50% of what I would have paid for the original filter so I am happy. Have two more left, I should be set for another year with 6 month replacements.
Change your filter, it's a pain researching the right one, but once you do, It's much better than relying on an external filteration device. Water tastes crisp and cold, I think it probably improves the quality of the ice cube dispenser as well. Installation is self explanatory, but instructions are included.

Michelle: These after market replacement filters are half of the price of the original name brand filters for my Whirlpool French Door refrigerator with water and ice on the door. I have used them for several years and see no difference between these and the more expensive ones

Tony A: I don’t know if you all know how confusing and unknowingly misleading filter companies can be. I spent days cross referencing and calling companies to find the filter that would work in my refrigerator. FINALLY I found this one that HAD A PICTURE OF TGE TOP OF THE FILTER which is CRUCIAL to knowing if it will actually work or not. Other references said my refrigerator used a different filter and whenever I compared my actual old one to their suggested one, It showed a different configuration on the top screw in point. NOT UNTIL this filter came along, could I find one that fit. My refrigerator is an AMANA/MAYTAG. This filter is not as good as the one I had before, which blocked out many more chemicals than this one BUT this one fit! AMEN! Lady said old filter is on back order and they are looking for a replacement for it as it will probably never come back in for sale. Good luck y’all. Oh, an ORIGINAL replacement costs $68 for 1 filter. No thanks.

Ryan Justin: I purchased this filter to replace a filter in my Kitchenaid fridge that is approximately five months old. It came with the top rated filter made by the brand in the manual and the Kitchenaid website.
It’s possible the one I replaced was just a defective filter, but from day one even after following the installation and flushing procedure it never produced a reasonable flow at the fridge spout and the ice made in the freezer was noticeably small and “light”.
I followed the exact same installation and flushing procedure to install this replacement filter and immediately noticed a difference in water flow and ice production. A glass of water is now filled in at least half the time it used to take.
In addition everyone who has tried water from this new filter has commented on it tasting better and more fresh than previously with the OEM filter. Once again, this may be due to a defect in that filter but even if it were, replacing that that defective filter with the same model would cost three times more than this one.
Overall I am extremely happy with this purchase and have only noticed benefits/improvements over the more expensive filter. Our taste...
