Mike: I really like the Western brand of BBQ wood chips.
They offer a wide variety of wood/flavors and they're priced pretty well.
My local big box stores have a hard time keeping them in stock, so when I run low, I buy them through Amazon.
About the chips, they're great
Consistent quality between bags
Nice thin chips and they burn very well.
Pricing - A bit more expensive than my big box store. I try to buy them locally since they're cheaper but when they're out of stock, I'm forced to buy from Amazon. Keep your eye on the prices here as they fluctuate a LOT

E. Powell: Grilling with wood chips adds a new flavor dimension to the gas grill experience. To be clear, you're not turning your grill into a full-fledged smoker but with an inexpensive smoke box, full of the chips of your choice, you can add a pleasant, smoky flavor to your grilled meats and vegetables. While I primarily use mesquite and hickory, I find fruit woods like cherry or apple are a nice change of pace as they provide a more delicate, slightly sweet smoke flavor, which is especially good for chicken or pork. You can even blend different types of wood for your own signature smoke flavor but be advised that some combinations work better than others. My smoke box, filled with dry chips, provides 20-30 minutes of good smoke which is plenty for something like a pork tenderloin, thick chops or pieces of chicken. It is not as satisfactory for larger cuts of meat like a beef brisket or Boston butt. A whole chicken will do quite nicely if you quarter it first. The trick is to preheat the grill on high to ignite the chips and start them smoking, then turn the heat down low when you put the meat on. It'll take longer to cook but it is so worth the wait! Also, avoid barbecue sauces as they...

ATP1: Though I prefer my Weber Smokey Mountain when it's hot out I use my gas grill. After trying several companies this is the brand I'm switching to for smoking on a 3-burner gas grill. Instructions state not to soak so today I didn't. Have tossed all my smoker boxes and now buy those 3/.99 loaf pans from the grocery store, cut a few holes in the bottom with the tip of my scissors, fill it with chips and place it uncovered in the back right on top of the flavor bars. Put that section on high and within five minutes or so the smoke starts. Leave it on high till the chips flare (which they probably will) and use a spray bottle to put the flare out. Put the butt on the either non-heated or very low heat sections and turn down the back burner. I take another small tray with chips and place it on the back section, right on top of the grate. This won't smoke by itself since you've turned the heat in the back down to control the overall temp. However, after ten minutes or so these chips are so dry that if you toss one or two kitchen matches on top they'll immediately ignite. As advertised, chips are easy to start (they're already kiln dried) and will smoke for 20-30 minutes. When you add in...

Sensei: This is really good wood. Definitely levels above competitors. the smoke is beautiful aromatic and inviting. It is not like cheap wood where you want to get away from the smoker while you're cooking. The thing I learned about wood is this test. Can you hang by the smoker with enjoyment while you are cooking or do you just walk over to the smoker to check your progress dreading the smoke?
