WEN 56203i - 2000 Watt Super Quiet Portable Inverter Generator

MWyenn: This mostly sat as a backup for a few years, being used for 5 days straight one year. This last summer we used it quite a bit more. Overall it's been really solid and I was impressed at how well it was ok sitting for awhile then starting right back up and running flawlessly.

It's much quieter than most generators I'm used to and it seems to sip fuel!

Reading through reviews that have one star I find a common complaint not only for this generator but almost all products. People would say that they bought the product but didn’t need to use it right away, so they put it on the shelf until they need to use it. When they went to use the product, it didn’t work. It is now past the 30-day return window and the product cannot be returned. They are advised to exercise the manufactures warranty. Sometimes the warranty process works perfect. But often times warranty process is so difficult and costly that it just not worth it. They wind up throwing the product away and become angry. The moral of the story is: always test the product as soon as you get it (certainly before 30 days) to make sure it works.
Now…to review this product.
Packaging is excellent. Box is sturdy double strength cardboard. Generator is enclosed in high density foam. Shipped via UPS. Zero shipping damage.
I read user manual before unit arrived. The user manual is as good as I have ever seen. Easy to read. Every detail is spelled out as it should be.

Csilla: Really well built, everything as expected or better, and most surprising was that it started after just one single easy pull for the very first time. Runs neat, after one hour of using it am impressed. Will update this tread after 20 hours of usage.

Dwight: Generator never ran correctly from the beginning ,currently trying to get replavement parts from Wen ,however they suggest i will have to send them my parts first, not gonna happen, bought a ne Honda yesterday should have done this first, live and learn

Ronstoppable: It is pretty quiet but has enough power to run two cook stove/hotplates. Safety feature cuts off power if overloaded.

Reviewer: I opened the box and followed the directions. I did use the supplied oil for the initial fill. I was not going hunting for ethanol-free gas (10% is standard in my area). I did add fuel additives to the mix to counteract the ethanol. Pulled the start a few times and it fired right up and I turned off the choke after a couple of seconds. It was running and quiet. A little bit of blue smoke on start-up but that is normal. Ran great w/no load. I let it idle a few minutes and inspected for leaks. It looks good. I found a heat gun that put it under load (1400 watts) and plugged it in and turned it on. The generator ramped up its effort (can hear the load change). I let it work with that and continued to monitor. I let it run for about 45-60 minutes with the 1400 watt load. I turned off the load (1400 watt heat gun) and the generator on ECO mode idled down. I let it run for another 5 minutes before I shut it off. I did not use the fuel cut-off, just straight to off. I drained and inspected the oil.... nothing abnormal. I replaced the oil with high-quality full synthetic with the proper viscosity. I can tell you that you should be on a flat surface and have a piece of cardboard under it...
