New Englander: Well designed and contains the litter, easy to sweep and clean, etc. It was much larger than I imagined , but that's because I didn't bother to really try to measure out the dimensions to the space, and it's a non-issue. Two litter boxes would fit easily on this.

Jeremy Weidenhof: My cat is getting older and occasionally has litterbox mishaps, with "spillage." Having used mesh-style litter mats which are nigh impossible to effectively clean, I have been using a "grid" type with a large matrix. While not impossible to clean, it was still difficult and messy. With an eye to improving that, I decided to give this smooth silicone mat a try.
Within days of installation the cat had put the mat to the test with a liquid mess. The mat had no trouble containing the mess, and instead of a big production to remove the mat outside for less messy cleaning, a simple mop up in-place with paper towels took care of the problem. Exactly what I was looking for.
As for minimizing litter tracking out of the box, I find that this mat works as well or slightly better than the old one, with a collection of stray litter on the mat itself and a small amount of "escapees" outside that are easily collected with a sweeper or brush.
Very pleased with the results and only wish I'd switched long ago. I'd definitely purchase again, and highly recommend for anyone looking for easier cleanup. It may not be perfect in trapping stray litter, but it more than makes up for...

To name a few of the mats that I have tried: Mesh mats, double layer mats, shag area rugs as a mat, and sisal of all brands, sizes, textures, and even colors if that matters. My cat misses the box sometimes and I've been able to wipe his urine off with no residual smell. The vacuum picks up all of the litter off of the mat and the best part is that it grabs the litter when my cat is finished with his business. I've purchased this mat in the past, threw it away when I thought I could find something better, and surprise surprise, I've repurchased this now because it simply is the best.

CatsMum: Good large size and neutral colour. No litter mat catches every bit of litter, so this is as good as it gets. I previously had one of the double layered mats, but some of the litter went through the holes as it was supposed to, but a lot just stuck in the holes. That meant two lots of hoovering - top and bottom layers. This mat is much quicker and easier only being a single layer. Also my cats tended to be sick occasionally on the previous mat which was then horrible to clean because the solid vomit stuck in the holes and the liquid ran through underneath. Life's so much simpler now!!

viewers choice: I think this is as good as I could hope for in a cat litter mat. Does it catch all the cat litter ? No. But there isn't a mat that does. This one catches loads of litter on the mat to tip back into litter tray. So it is catching a good percentage of the litter. I have tried the other webbing type ones and my corn grain litter gets caught up in the mat and causes more mess than not using one, which makes it useless. But this rubber mat really does catch a lot of litter and the mat is easy to pick up and pour the litter back into tray, so very little litter gets wasted. It has deep grooves enough to catch the litter, but not so deep as to stop my cat walking on it to enter or exit his tray. It feels similar to a car rubber foot well mat. It is definitely better than any other I have tried, and so easy to use. No mat can promise to catch all your litter, if you are looking for the impossible, this mat isn't for you. But if your expectations are realistic then this works as good or better than any mat you will find on the market. It has a thoughtful design. I am glad that I bought it.

I work in the plastics industry and for them to use FDA grade silicone is great - the stuff is really good quality material that is usually reserved for baby products and products in contact with food.
I've tried everything for my cat and was about to give up.
My cat likes to claw at the litter mats. The wire-y textured ones I've purchased were obliterated within 4 months of use. They had giant holes in them where he likes to claw at when hes done inside the litterbox. The silicone has been pretty heavy duty and I am unable to find scratches on it at all and it has been about 6 months of use now. The ridges are protruded but not enough that they catch on his claws. The mat is heavy so its hard for him to lift up the mat.
My cat also likes to throw up on litter mats. The wire-y ones were so difficult to clean as the vomit just got caught up in all the wire and fuzz. On the silicone it is a breeze to clean. Wet...

These are silicone, non porous and VERY EASY TO CLEAN! We had two messes on them and cleaning was a breeze. No more taking them out to the yard to hose them down. Now we can wipe them down, or because they fold we can use our utility sink in the garage.
Neutral color works well in most spaces. The smaller size is perfect for any standard setup. The larger size fits perfectly in the Litter Robot farmhouse credenza.
