Bought this mat and it has helped tremendously with keeping the litter within the perimeter of the litter box.

meaner: This is strange because it's rubber!! This works except the cat litter stays on this rug!! So take it outside & beat it or use the arm to the vacuum cleaner to clean it!!

Nick Pryor: I have this may in front of my cats litter box and it works very well at capturing any litter from their paws. They’re still kittens so they get a little wild and my boy cat isn’t the best at covering his mess..🤣🐈⬛🐈⬛

CyberMBA: The smaller sized mats just weren't big enough and my cat was tracking litter past the mat's edge.
I got this in XL which is 35" x 23" and it's big enough that he is walking almost all the litter off on top of the mat! I still find a little bit off the mat but hardly any. Like most mats of this type, you can just pick it up by the edges and then gently tilt it over to shake the litter back into the litter box. I expect this plastic weave mat to last as long as others that I have had and to be washable in the back yard with a hose.
Definitely worth it to have a larger size litter mat so I can maintain a cleaner floor that I don't have to sweep up with daily messes.

Ruben Alejandro Escalante Menchaca: My kitty, Leah, is currently on Pretty Litter, which is different from the conventional litters out there. Although the smell and dust is much better, her paws get so much silica on them. We tried a few Home Depot/Canadian tire mats and they are just ok. This one has done a good job so far, while she still gets some litter on her paws (and then on the floor) I noticed that there is less litter silica outside of her washroom. I think that’s also cause I bought a bigger litter box (Steel Ohmaker)

seebee: The cat's (open style) litter box sits on this mat and allows some entry from either end. It traps (light corn cob) litter efficiently, keeping it from being tracked through the room. It is easy to vacuum or pick up to shake any loose litter back into the box. There was no chemical smell to the mat and the cat accepted it without any hesitation. I do not think it would be difficult to wash ("hose down") if necessary. It is a simple and economical option that does exactly what a litter mat should. Recommended.

CC: I've had this mat for a few weeks and so far I like it. Although it's not a relevant factor for everyone, I appreciated that this company donates a portion of the profits to animal charities. At first there was a smell when I opened the package, but it goes away after airing it out and laying it flat to remove the creases as it's delivered folded up. I definitely noticed less tracking of cat litter around the house and the cat litter stays in the mat's mesh (imagine a rubber steel wool). Cleaning the mat is easy - either hand wash with soap and water or hose it down and let it air-dry; vacuuming is also easy to do.
I would recommend this mat!
Edit:
After six months of use, one of my cats didn't aim well and the pee ended up on the floor, under the mat. Unfortunately, the underside of the mat doesn't seem to be as waterproof as the top, mesh side. (The underside is like a foam/sponge-like material.) Perhaps I didn't soak the mat long enough to get rid of the pee, but the smell was definitely noticeable even after washing.
I really wanted to like this mat, if not for the not-so-waterproof underside. Another minor nitpick is that to clean out the litter in the...

kchampa: LITTER BOX: Top-entry - rubbermaid with a hole cut in the lid. Litter used is a clumping litter, not a light-weight litter. Placed in the bathroom. Used by 2 adult cats.
PRE-MAT SITUATION: Litter everywhere, using a towel under the litter box caught some but was generally ineffective.
MAT PLACEMENT: We place the long edge of the mat under the edge of the litter box to weight it down, with the mat between the litter box and the rest of the room. It's unfortunately possible for the cats to circumvent the mat, but that's just how the room is set up.
LITTER REDUCTION: This mat (surprising me) dramatically reduced the spread of litter in our bathroom but did not eliminate it completely.
CLEANING: It's relatively easy to clean by shaking it out or vacuuming over it, but it's difficult to get it completely litter-free.
SIZE: It was the perfect width, but I would have preferred the mat to be longer.
CAT-FRIENDLINESS: Cats had no problems walking on it and like to scratch it. The scratching hasn't caused noticeable damage so far (~3 months of use). If not weighted down, our cats will mess with this mat and move it everywhere.

Thomas Stevens: Well we have 2 cats and 1 litter. Mostly bare floors, some carpets, but it's a reno in progress. In the near future it will be carpet free. But I digress. Suffice to say, litter is in a carpet free zone.
I tried using cheap carpets from low rent stores, but they all suffer the same problem. In a very short time they become embedded with cat hair, cat litter, and dare I say, cat feces. It's a pain to try and clean that. Not sure I ever want that mess near my washer. End result is a cheap carpet that cannot be properly clean. Into the garbage with that. This is a unsustainable cycle of buy, use for a limited period, junk it and repeat. I have no interest in that kind of waste. If not the cost, then the environment. I do not want to prescribe to a disposable consumption to deal with messy cats.
Enter this mat.
Right of the bat, the cats love it. They seem to enjoy laying on the mat. Seems very cushioned and airy. I suspect cats love the feeling. As for it's true purpose, to hold back the cat litter, it functions well. It catches most of what those messy cats can fling. It's easily cuts down on the spread of their mess by 80 - 90%.
And very easy to keep...
