J. Shoemaker: These plastic candles are great for places where people won't necessarily get too close to them. They are made of good quality plastic, btu compared to ones actually made from wax, or even beeswax, they won't smell as good. Smell, however, was not what I wanted, I needed looks! And these look fine from a little distance (like on top of a cabinet, or behind a glass cupboard door. I own more of this brand and the battery life has been really good. The brightness is less than some others, but it is plenty good and perhaps that is what contributes to the extended battery life. Anyway, since discovering this kind of battery candle a couple of years ago I've bought multiple packages of different sizes and been happy with all of them. Recommended.

Richard: Just as stated in the above description the batteries do last for 1500 hours! (Over 8 months) ! I placed two of these candles on an outside building in February and used Amazon Basics batteries. They have endured temperatures ranging from -25C to +35C and are still going, but I have noticed recently that they are not as bright as they were.
I checked the batteries, and they show a voltage of 1.25. However, I have installed new batteries and will make a note to change them in 6 months time. I am happy with that.

T. B.: Light the basic design. simple switch. no remote. Hesistant about timer at first but works great. Turn it on when you want at night and it will turn off after 5 hours. Will come on again the same time next night. Like it takes aa batteries. I use rechargable eneloop batteries and they lasted months between recharges. Light is good. Some other led candles flicker at a seizure endusing rythym that is very annoying. I bought the set of 3 on the left. It seems there are different designs mixed in. The one's I got are very candle-like from a distsnce.

I've bought the 3x set three times... to expand in different rooms.

Great effect around dusk.

AWaldronAWaldron: I used them for an outdoor wedding. The look is great, but I was hoping they had a remote or a timer that I could set because they are too high for me to light each one. You “train” them to go on for 6 hours, and then they go off for 18 hours. It was too late for me to send them back, so I used them. Be prepared with two AA batteries for each candle. The longevity is great, and they’re still working - just read the fine print.

J. Graham: I have a pretty good size hanging lantern in our courtyard. The original candle failed and no longer worked. I decided to be a do it yourself fixer and see what it would take to replace it. The original candle was screwed into the base of the lantern, through some eye holes. So I unscrewed the screws, removed the old candle and inserted this candle and marked the bottom. I then had my Hubby take a very small drill bit and drill into the plastic screw on base for the screw holes. I didn't realize this had a screw on base so it made it a bit trickier. We drilled and screwed the base onto the bottom of the lantern, then opened the lantern and screwed the candle onto the bottom threads of the base. It works but took a bit more DIY than I was hoping. Now I'm wishing I would have got a candle that had a remote to turn it on at dusk. Since the switch is hidden under the screw on base I have to completely unscrew the candle from the inside to change the timer as the seasons change. Candle is a dim light, not very bright. Warm golden glow. As described.
