paho: Wife used this on a butcher block island top, she put on two coats after lightly sanding the top. Finish coat looks a lot better than before. Not yet sure of durability or water resistance. A few days after applying the product we relocated to our condo for the winter - I can update this review once we return.

bob: Really good stuff. Light sanding between applications and this stuff is nice. Wear gloves. Wear gloves !!
Not only on a butcher block. Used excess on some sanded birch plywood, gave it a fine cabinet-grade appearance. I applied a single coat of water-based polyurethane on both just to enhance the "pop" on both the butcher block and plywood.

V.S.: We used 2 applications of this stuff to seal our temporary butcherblock countertops before we do a bigger renovation.
It worked great, water just beads up on the surface and doesn't penetrate.
Definitely air out your house as you use this stuff, the oil-based vapors really go to your head.

S.M.S.M.: I have used this product twice on our dining table. It lasted almost 4 years the first time. The only reason I had to completely redo it was my son put borax on the table during a science experiment and it ate the finish. I will use this product over and over.

D. O'BrienD. O'Brien: I refinish pieces of furniture that I find in alleys and that have been thrown out. I had this table that had a typical dark stain on it so I sanded it and had planned on painting it after I figured the wood would be in bad shape. Once I got it sanded, I realize the wood was in good shape and had a nice grain, so I tried this butcher block oil. Well, the oil went on smoothly and evenly, and really brought out the grain while not covering anything up. It was a good decision and I’m so glad I didn’t paint over this pretty wood. Highly recommended.

Uttara Garg: It colourless, dries fast and easy to apply. It dries quickly in the tin so better to change the container once you open it. Bought is twice already

Akshay Panday: A joy to put down. The first coat is absorbed quite fast and subsequent coats needs longer drying and setting times.
I am totally an amateur and have struggled with laying down a smooth finish, but with this oil, the swirly mess resolves itself by the time it has dried and is smooth to the touch. A minute with an 800grit sandpaper and you are good to go.
Haven't yet seen how it performs after regular use & wear.

Samsuddha: Its got a slightly strong smell, not unpleasant but chemical-like, and it tends to stick to skin and hard to wash off, so wear gloves if possible. As such, it is an occasional varnish for your butcher block and other kitchen wood rather than a regular use wood oil. For regular use, a regular mineral oil or mineral oil/bees wax combo is more suitable. That is because the instructions mention atleast 2 coats on 8hours interval and then wait atleast 2 days before use. Therefore definitely not for regular maintenance. This is to use once when you buy new and occasionally when the wood is dry and chippy.
But having said that, for the said purpose of coating new product or restoring badly dry/chippy product which is starting to absorb water, it is really good. More effective than regular mineral oil. So it does serve a purpose for me, but make sure you are getting it for the right purpose. I basically use it once on all new unvarnished knife/ladle handles and butcher blocks, and once in a year, I might coat my butcher blocks and knife/ladle handles again. Its should also be great for wooden kitchen surfaces, if having, though I have quartz so not a first person experience (but lot of...
