Steve: To start, I believe these to be refurbished, they show no signs of use however they came in a plain brown cardboard box well wrapped in bubble wrap. Absolutely no commercial or consumer packaging what so ever. Documents and non resellable duracell batteries were included.
Very nice ear pro I must say, they have some weight to them and feel substantial however I'm not convinced these are any good for hunting for one simple reason and this may chance with further use and testing.....the audio seems mono directional...meaning if a sound is coming from my extreme right or extreme left, I'm not hearing it only in that ear peice, I'm hearing it from both. So my issue is, if I have a deer walking into my stand or blind off my shoulder I feel like it won't pick up that sound until the headset is directed more towards that sound. Ideal for the range and talking to gunny next to you but for hunting I want the same "7.1surround sound" experience my ears offer me. Now with all that said I still like these alot and for the money they will do just fine for target shooting. I may however look into something with a greater range of audio capture for hunting. I will update if I discover...
