FlooDoo: An inspirational story for the ages. Jimmy teaches us about forgiveness. His ability to forgive after all the betrayal and lack of support is admirable. How he overcame the odds to be successful after so many setbacks is truly amazing. It's a riveting story that leaves the reader with a greater sense of empathy and hope. Because of this book, I was inspired to forgive my mother.

miss babylon: This book will break your heart, I’ve seen jimmy Wayne performing at the grand ole opry on a few occasions and was impressed enough to buy his CDs , I knew a bit about his backstory but the full extent of his life experience is astonishing. This book doesn’t pull any punches I cried at many times reading this book but overall was impressed at how incredibly talented kind and thoughtful an individual he must be to have overcome an awful poverty stricken existence but still want to improve life for others. This book details some awful aspects of his life but shows that he is using his name and experience to help others . A very worthy and inspiring powerful book that will stay with you long after you have finished reading it.

MVS: Be prepared to have your heart strings tugged, your emotions tapped into as you read this incredible book. It was an excellent read and it certainly exacerbates the need for change in the foster care system, and also how one percieves homeless and troubled kids, and the problem we still have today for the teens who age out of the foster-care system. It's definitely an eye opener! Whether you are a Christian or not, this book certainly challenges the reader. What a 'beautiful' heart wrenching story of a young boy who survivred to become a young man who made a diference!

Andrew L: A very moving book telling how a young boy overcame a horrendous childhood to rise to the top in his chosen field of Country music as a singer and songwriter thanks to the help and encouragement given to him along the way by some Christian friends climaxing with his account of a walk halfway across America which he undertook to raise awareness of the plight of foster children who had their funding support withdrawn at the age of eighteen meaning they were mostly turned out on to the streets to fend for themselves. A book which will inspire many underprivileged young people to go with their dream of success no matter how impossible it seems. God bless you Jimmy Wayne Barber.

Rhea Jean: Unforgettable story!! I couldn't put it down and I was eager to get back to it when I had to stop reading. We first saw Jimmy when he performed at the Grand Ole Opry and his song "I Love You This Much" brought TEARS to our eyes! That does not often happen. To know this story is the true account of a child's life is tragic, and where he is today is nothing but miraculous! God clearly has a plan for Jimmy Wayne. After reading Walk To Beautiful, God & Jimmy have inspired us to reach out and help children in need.

Heather Olson: If I told others that I read a book in a day, they may not believe me knowing that I am not a big fan of reading books since Graduate School 14 years ago for Social Work (I had to read so much that I only wanted to read newspapers and magazines thereafter) and have not been so excited about reading a book since the 50 Shades of Grey Trilogy (yes, I am that crazed fan of the fictionalized Christian Grey—LOL), that is until “Walk to Beautiful” arrived in my mailbox via Amazon.com that I had pre-ordered.
I have always respected Jimmy Wayne more than any other music artist or person for that matter because of his passion to help youth in the foster care system and him bringing awareness to mental illness and to share his life story with all using his beautiful voice and God-given talent and because I feel as if I can somewhat relate to Jimmy, not because I have experienced traumas as he has but because we share the same passion. I like Jimmy had a mother diagnosed with a mental health disorder, Bipolar Disorder but unlike Jimmy, my mother accepted assistance through mental health providers and has been stabilized on medication and was not addicted to drugs and/or alcohol....
