MF: I balked at the price of the brand-name version of this clock, and decided to try out this option, which is the "Smart Sunrise Alarm Clock, Wake Up Light Alarm Clocks" of the choices offered above. After reading complaints for both this and the brand version, it was pretty clear that the complexity of setting multiple alarms with multiple light and sound settings was a real pain for everyone, and I thought the app would help - I was right! The phone control (via Smart Life app) makes a huge difference in navigating the features successfully and without frustration, especially since the written instructions are not sufficient. Sometimes it gets stuck on the snooze setting, but closing and reopening the app fixes it. As for the clock's function, it has a great, strong light, and while the sound quality isn't at a level that I'd want to listen to it for a long period, it's still pleasant to wake up to. Overall, I'm really pleased with this this sunrise clock, and it is making a difference in waking up in the morning.

Alarm stopped working after barely 1 week of use. Cheap quality, feels flimsy. Not surprised it didn't last.

Hannah Hess: Overall very happy with this product! Definitely helps ease the pain of waking up from a deep sleep in a pitch black room. I wake up feeling calmer and more rested. The settings are very customizable which I like. Only took off a star for minor things. The clock does run a bit fast. I’ve had to reset it back a couple times to be accurate. I also stopped using the sound effects with the alarm because they were a bit too much for me, a little artificial sounding but that’s just my personal opinion. Overall very satisfied and would recommend

mboirsbeek: There are days that I had problems waking up one of my granddaughters but this alarm clock is working great especially on school days where they have to get up early. It is also great that it is a night light since one of the granddaughters is still scared at night sometimes and she would freak out when she woke up in the dark. Now she is not waking me up anymore since the night light can be set bright enough for her to see the whole room. She just goes back to sleep. The only negative I think is that the snooze is a little long, about 8 or 9 minutes. That’s just a little long for the girls.

lauren: This really helps me wake up more naturally so I don’t feel so tired in the morning after being woken from deep sleep! It isn’t magic though, if you don’t get enough sleep you will be tired still. BUT if you get enough sleep and being woken by an alarm in the dark is jarring, this will make your morning much more pleasant!
When reading reviews, someone mentioned that there is a USB port in the alarm for charging your phone but mine does not. So be sure to check which model you are getting and it’s features. I didn’t realize there was so much variation.
I do wish the alarm light stayed on until I turned it off, but it only stays on the duration you have the alarm set for- which has a max time of 30 minutes.

Para despertar es genial, dependiendo de los ajustes de luz y sonido, tendrás tu alarma a la hora que lo indiques y es mucho más agradable a despertarse con cualquier alarma de celular.

También el modo atardecer me ayuda bastante a la hora de dormir. Igualmente, dependiendo de los ajustes, de manera paulatina la lámpara va disminuyendo la intensidad de la luz, acompañada de sonido ambiental. Al haber tenido problemas de insomnio en el último año, este modo de la lámpara ayuda bastante para quienes nos sentimos más cómodas y cómodos conciliando el sueño con luz y sonido ambiental.

En general la lámpara-despertador tiene un montón de ajustes que se pueden modificar como mejor nos convenga o nos guste. Entre ellos la intensidad de la luz (para despertador, modo atardecer, o simplemente como lámpara), el volumen del sonido, la duración de la luz en modo lámpara, el color de la luz cuando esta es para “colorear” el espacio, diferentes sonidos para despertador y modo atardecer.

D G: Have been using this since July and it seems to work. I have set the light to come on well before the audible alarm and the light always wakes me up.

Not sure about the gradual brightness, whenever it wakes me it’s already at what I consider the same amount of light as if someone just opened my curtains on a sunny day.

This is where it falls apart for me. The buttons on the back are near useless. Yes, you can use them to make adjustments but it feels like you are inputting a cheat code for an old video game. Honestly I would never set alarms or make adjustments using the controls on the alarm, I 100% always use the app.

My last gripe is the stand or lack there of. It does have a stand but it’s so small that the alarm constantly gets knocked over (even off my night stand on several occasions, I mean I guess this speaks to its durability) so much so that I now just lay it down flat without the stand. Laying it down flat works, but I would rather have the light pointing towards me than at the ceiling. Also laying the alarm flat makes the buttons on the rear inaccessible without pickup up the alarm, since in my opinion the buttons are relatively useless this...

David: I haven't done extensive research on all similar products, but from what I can tell, the one distinguishing feature from such products in a similar price range is that this clock has a USB port to charge your phone. So rather than have to pick what thing to lose from my bedside outlet, I can just replace my phone charger with this clock. This helps put this light clock over others for me.

Downside: charging though the clock is slower than my normal adapter. But when I'm just leaving it through the night, no big deal.

The rest of the features seem to be the same as similar products, but I'll comment on them anyway because I really enjoy them. And if these features weren't there, it'd be harder to pick this clock over other clocks despite having the charger function.

1) You can turn off the LED lights that display the time. If you just want the waking light functionality but don't like small red lights glaring in the darkness, reminding you how it's this late and you still haven't fallen asleep, you can turn it off (and back on) with a couple clicks of a button.
