VIZIO SB2920-C6 29" 2.0 Channel Soundbar - Enjoy Rich, Room-Filling Audio

GTHA West End Guy: I bought this as an Amazon Renewed product, I was surprised to receive a brand new unopened unit. As for the soundbar I just wanted something for the TV in my office and it does the trick. I don't consider myself an audiophile but I do have an above average appreciation for good sound quality and this 2.0 soundbar is better than the TV speakers and provides decent sound quality. It's paired with a Vizio TV so I like that the TV remote operates the sound bar without any adjustment to settings. Don't expect this to blow you out of the park because it will not. If your needs and expectations are pretty basic then you'll be pleased with this soundbar.

Amazon Customer: Definitely worth the price. Sound was better then exciting. I like how you can add to the sound bar if you buy more speakers. Also like how you can turn on / off the surround sound

This is really good sound bar and leaves the others way behind in sound quality - hooked up to the sub it sounds amazing. I couldn't get the coax to work directly with my TV however the blue tooth syncs well with the Fire Stick, no lag in voices- well worth the price - don't bother with the other slightly cheaper bars

N. Ewald: I saw all of these other more negative reviews, and wanted to post my experience. Also note that I got this on an Amazon Goldbox deal for $52, so my review is based on this price point.

Firstly, the soundbar was packaged well, wrapped in foam with foam pieces around the end, and the box itself shipped in a larger box with paper padding. The soundbar looks new - no evidence of any prior owners like you sometimes get with refurbished products. The remote was wrapped, with separate wrapped batteries. It came with a digital optical cable, a digital coaxial cable, and stereo (red/white) RCA cables, so that you could hook it up no matter what output your TV supports (they get extra points for coming with a digital optical cable! Even my 5.1 surround Samsung unit didn't come with one).

Setup was easy, and it perfectly matches the horizontal space my 32" LG TV takes up (the soundbar was for a smaller TV in the bedroom with a Chromecast hooked up to it). I simply plugged the provided digital optical cable into my TV's optical output, and into the input on the soundbar, then plugged the soundbar into the wall.

Dave: Very happy with this. It's no replacement for a proper set of bookshelf speakers but for the size and price it gives great sound. I'm weary of sound adjustments but the TruVol setting is great at normalising the volume to even out loud and quiet parts in movies.

Two niggles I have with it:
-It's too loud and has big jumps in volume at it's lowest settings. Very annoying late at night.
-I wish it could be powered through USB. It takes 5V 1A from the adapter and has a USB port so there is no reason it's not possible. Would make it excellent to bring with me when I'm driving to the lake.

AutumnBlonde: Let me start by saying … if you happen to have an LG 37LD450 model flat screen television, or any of the LG televisions, no matter the model, this sound bar will only work with the headphone jack. I tried using the S/PDIF cord that came with the sound bar, to connect it to the digital audio input on my LG television, but it will not work. I received no sound whatsoever this way. After searching the net, and many frustrating lost minutes, I discovered that there is no way to use the S/PDIF audio input on an LG TV. It’s a long story as to why, but if you want to know the details, an online search will result in the answers.

Long story short ... if you don’t mind using your headphone jack to utilize this sound bar with your LG brand TV, then this sound bar is great. I do wish I could use a digital cord (the S/PDIF is digital), versus the analog headphone jack, but this isn’t Vizio’s fault. I blame this on LG and poor planning/design on their part.

What? No!: Sad to say that our older Vizio M320VT TV has really awful sound; everything else about the TV is great. I was always missing key bits of dialog, so I finally broke down and bought a vizio sound bar -- hoping that at least the dialog would improve. Well *everything* has improved, it's got really great sound for everything from talking and sounds in nature to instrumentals & vocals. When I compared the two sound sources together I was amazed at how much range was not coming through the built-in TV speakers AT ALL. And there's so much bass available from the sound bar (without a sub-woofer) that I had to turn the bass almost all the way down. So it's really nice to have *just* the sound bar and not need a sub-woofer (one more box and a fist-full more cabling that I *don't* have to put in the living room). Good looking, well designed, well packaged, well-thought-out unit. It's a really great purchase.
