firrox: Works great, not very loud, not the strongest but for it's price it's hard to beat. Had it in a tent for a year and a half and still use it during hot months and no problems over 3 years later

B. Quinn: Been running a full year, nonstop, at about medium speed, zero problems. I have done no maintenance. It moves a lot of air. It's kind of loud, but I can't compare loudness to other fans of the same size. When it was in my living room it was too loud. It's in my bedroom now not far from my bed and that doesn't bother me.

I am mining in a grow tent in a small 1br apartment and this ventilation solution has allowed me to max out my apartment electrical grid and keep quite an oversized (for my living situation) mining operation going. I have a smaller intake fan by the same brand, a different model, and with the two fans I circulate the outside air through my tent (both intake and exhaust tubes hang out the window), so that it does not affect the air pressure in my apartment.

It was really drafty when I was either sucking air in, or blowing it out. I thought I was getting the Korean Fan Death, my mouth would be soooooooo dried out every morning because my bedroom had like low air pressure. So keep in mind if you are exhausting hot air outdoors, that creates an air pressure gradient with other impacts.

Kai: I decided to buy a less than new (read "good") item as it was sold and shipped from amazon and the description stated light cosmetic issues less than an inch on the outside in it's original packaging for fifteen dollars cheaper than brand new. The item came exactly as described and to my surprise actually had no actual damage on the product itself but the original packaging was slightly damaged and I think Amazon was just trying to cover themselves just in case. Item worked perfectly and was very quiet given the amount of air it was pushing. I use it for my spray booth to pull toxic fumes as well as organic material from overspray and it does what I need beautifully. The only gripe to mention is I did experience the so called noise that came after about an hour of breaking in. It is a soft knock obviously from a blade that probably wasn't machined exactly perfect that I'll probably try to fix st some point. The noise isn't constantly present but is rhythmic (obviously) seeming to get worse over time (again obviously) Still no regrets with the purchase and recommend.

JayJay: I've been using this fan in a 4x4 tent and it is working perfectly for my needs and expectations. It is very powerful fan, but it is surprisingly quiet. I should note that I suspended the fan using zip ties to eliminate vibration noise. From holding this unit you can tell it is not a cheaply made fan. I
Am happy with the quality; It has some weight and isn't made out of plastic. The inlet and outlet were easy to connect aluminum ducting to. The screws to attach the fan to the mounting bracket were a bit tough to reach while holding the fan but it still only took me a few minutes to complete. I am happy with this purchase and I am hoping for several years use out of this fan.

Brian M.: Vivosun - where to begin.. spent over 700 dollars on there products. Had an issue with the 8 inch fan knocking noise. Vivosun refunded the money immediately after reporting the issue. Bought another one and works perfect. Company is top notch.. love all the products and will continue to purchase.

Noise Silencer, (2) 8” Inline Fan with Variable Control, and (3) 8” Carbon Filter.

Although they will soon be installed in my indoor garden, I decided to try simply stacking them (no clamps or tape!) to use in my living area to control odours related to trimming fresh plant material. Wowwwww! I am so impressed!! The “stack” is very stable standing with no support, and the 3-4” clearance at the top allows fresh, clean air to be distributed widely throughout the living space.

The Noise Reducer is light and highly effective: Standing 1-2 feet from the “stack” while working, I was still able to hear the TV in the distance with ease. I have just purchased several for use in the garden ventilation system. Great find!

The variable speed controller on the this solid, well-built and designed fan is a great feature. Even at max warp speed, it was comfortable to work around. And smell?? What smell?! NONE! The carbon filter sure does it’s job!

For me, my “Vivosun Stack” is a real game changer for PORTABLE air circulation and odour control! 😎💪🙏💚

John: i used this for dozens of different applications including funneling large amounts of hot air, venting toxic fumes, a window fan in the summer, and now i use it for an air filtration box. Ive had this thing for over a year and its an incredibly versatile tool. easily gets a 5 star! im planning an upgrade of the speed dial to see if i can get it to spin slower on the lowest setting. I also want to take it apart and inspect the bearing and see it it can be replaced. although it works fine and isnt that loud so i haven't yet. i just think if its an easy swap that it would make a big difference. definitely an extremely durable product and im very very happy with it.
as for performance; it moves a ton of air. its not loud and exceeded my expectations in how long it lasts without problems or breaking. still going strong and ive never had to repair it.
it currently sits on a purpose built shelf in my home office attached to a 12"x12" filter box that you can buy at a hydroponics shop. i modified it to take a premium HEPA air filter and sealed it with air conditioning foam insulation adhesive strips. Regular folk: We had a 2nd floor room in our century-old house that had only a faint breeze coming from its vent via 6" flexible duct tube that was routed down through an old chimney to the basement where there was only a short distance between the main duct from the furnace/HVAC and the hole in the chimney. Consequently, longer inline fans were not an option. After installing the Vivosun 6" fan, that previously hot-in-the-summer and cold-in-the-winter room now has the best airflow in the house-- even airflow overkill for just one room.
The variable speed controller on the fan allows you to adjust from super fast all the way down to very fast. Yeah, it won't blow slowly. This fan is no wimp!
The fan is well balanced and lubricated and runs very quietly. About the only noise is from the wind that the fan creates, which is to be expected and is unavoidable. The motor itself is just about silent.
UPDATE: January 15, 2020. After using it for a year and a half, it started to squeak and then make a rubbing sound. I contacted Vivosun and asked if there were any lubricants that they recommended or would advise against. They refunded my purchase price (!) and said...
