VIVOSUN 30"x18"x36" Grow Tent with Observation Window and Floor Tray for Indoor Plant Growing and Hydroponic Gardening

Amazon Customer: First time tent grower. This tent is strong and has plenty of vents and exhaust ports. The ports are 6". Often 4" inline fans are recommended for smaller tents but the choice seems to have made for you at 6". The main door that you open every time is made well and the zipper extra wide and strong.
My first regret was not going taller. My biggest selling point on a small tent was efficiency and economy. I'm growing shorter crops so the size should be adequate. However, after getting started I think I would prefer a taller tent simply for the headroom to move around. Between the the lighting, the oscillating fan, exhaust fan & filter etc, the top half of the tent is pretty full. Yes, you can run some thing from the outside, but changes the dynamics of the whole ser up design. So I would shoot for the tallest I could get and slightly wider size for myself. I have a bigger one on my list and should know soon if taller is necessary or convenient. A second tent for maintaining a rolling cycle might be in the works.

I actually had gotten a different tent and when it showed up there were poles missing so I sent them back won't say what company that was from.so the next day I seen this tent and it looked perfect for what I needed it for. Growing cannabis. So when I received it and it came a day early and when I opened it this tent is made just like if not better then some of these over priced companies. Melonfarm is where it's at great choice.

MCB: The good news:
1) The price was one of the few available on Amazon that I was comfortable with. I like how you can hang accessories from the top and I like the idea of a solid frame.

2) the door is big and their are many vents and windows for air circulation and to check on your plants without opening the door.

3) the pockets are quiet handy and keep my moisture meter safe from spills.

The bad news:
1)I had some issues with 2 of the poles. They click in like a crutch leg adjustment. The issue was that two of them had their mechanisms pushed all the way in and they weren’t popping out to click into the other poles securely. Very disappointed by this.

2) Be aware that the zipper has a tendency to jam which is time consuming and annoying like an old winter jacket that splits all the time. I’m hoping that as it becomes less stiff, it will do that less often.

Mr. DoboMr. Dobo: The frame installation is easy. Installing the grower tent onto the frame is a little tricky if you're alone. If you are, unzip the tent and fit the bottom base of the tent first. it will be snug so the frame will hold it in shape. from there fit one side at a time, flipping it if it's necessary until it encases the frame. the tent itself has some heft on it so it's sturdy. It also has port holes for exhaust fans.
other than that, it emits a slight plastic smell. Pefect for the home gardener! ;)

charles t.: this is my second grow tent but my first from Vivosun, I was amazed at the beating this tent took from me when i was trying to put it together, i was pretty rough with it. Material is very sturdy. with my old age, and my shaky body parts i had a little trouble putting it together, so i contacted customer service by email. i got a reply a few hours later, they asked for more information and i did the best i could to provide their requests. their customer service was very friendly, understanding and within 24 hours i had gotten new instructions. this time i disassembled the tent, and started over and what do you know it worked great with their assistance. operator error and they were very understanding. fantastic service and smile to their support and their product.

Dan: So if this product would have held together for more then 1 year it would have had a stellar review but getting ready for this years garden I went to put my tent together and get ready for green thumb season unfortunately I had to pull out the duct tape to seam the tent because the tent is built with such tight tolerances that a second assembly actually tears the seams apart had the manufacture used an extra 1” on length or width the tent would not have seems that failed al though the poles are flimsy they hold every together nicely . The removable tray as great of an idea is really only removable after you empty the tent out but does an excellent job keeping any water in there so not to spear all over your floors overall if this tent did t have the seams bust out after the first year it would have been a good investment but please do save your money as a tent that is only good for two years save your money and buy and outdoor greenhouse and indoor use the racks instead of the tent

snaggy: Works for what I bought it for, hot peppers. I have no reason to zip the doors shut for photo sensitive plants as I'm only growing hot peppers, but if I was I would probably not be happy with this tent as the zippers leak light when the tent is zipped up. One bonus is that the connectors that ll the pipes fit into are all metal, way better than some of the crappy plastic ones some tents use.

jonathanjonathan: Everything was there when I received the tent. But the floor tray was not sewed correctly, so there are no actual corners, causing you to lose floor space.

TWH: I'm generally of the opinion "Buy cheap, buy twice". However, this is my first grow tent and I didn't want to waste a lot of money learning which features are important to me. I've since bought other Vivosun products and they seem to try hard to be responsive to customer needs (smart!) and provide quality products at an attractive price points.

So...why buy a grow tent at all? For me, I bought an "Exhale 365" bag for CO2 augmentation, but had no way to keep the CO2 near the plants to do any good.

The most important thing I learned about grow tents is that the tent itself is just the beginning. I also needed a ventilation system, carbon filter, clip fans, ratchet hangers, ducting material, screw clamps, lights, power strips w/timer feature, fan speed regulator, zip ties, and a CO2/RH/Temp meter w/logging feature.

Another thing I learned is that most grow tents, are engineered to a particular configuration, but they don't tell you what that configuration is! It may be intuitively obvious to an experienced grower, but not to a NooB like me.

My "guess" is that the Vivosun grow tent is made for an inline HID lamp and filter, but that's not what I have. I...
