Rick: This combo is amazing, and for an unbeatable price! I have had a Wenger Handyman for over a decade that has served as my general utility/camping swiss army knife. I wanted to get another that was smaller, for EDC purposes. After looking at all of the models, I settled on the Tinker. Everything you need, and nothing you don't (except scissors - more on that in a bit). This knife is surprisingly thin and light overall. Many "medium size "SAK's are three rails wide - this one is two rails wide, making it nicely thin. Fits perfectly in the 5th pocket of men's jeans. I use every single one of the tools, and have not found it lacking. Most people love SAK scissors, which I'll admit I used on my Wenger quite a bit. But I find that the small blade on the Tinker is able to handle the same jobs as the scissors would. If I could trade the small blade on the Tinker for scissors I probably would, but I don't think it hampers the Tinker much at all (and it would probably require it to be three rails wide - I'll take the small blade and two rails over the scissors). I also love having the Philips driver instead of a corkscrew.

Now for the value, I paid $25 for this set....

C. SPANOGHE: I ordered two of these: one for my desk and one for an Xmas gift for my brother-in-law. In-case you are wondering, it comes in one of those plastic clear packages designed to hang on store hooks (the ones that are impossible to open without a big pair of scissors or, well, a Swiss Army Knife). Sure, it is not a fancy gift box, but at roughly $17, it is a fantastic value.

The knives are as good quality as any other Victorinox knives I've had go. This is a great way to have the essentials at a low price. The build quality is great, but I did find that there was an excess of oil on the blades when opening the knife for the first time. Be sure to have a tissue handy.

-The Tinker - probably the most commonly used SAK in the world. This is just like the original Spartan, but has a Philips screwdriver instead of the corkscrew. It comes with the essentials - blade, smaller blade, bottle opener/wire stripper/flathead, reamer, screwdriver, and bottle opener.
