Also love that it’s not red. Put it in your car and always be prepared.

J in CA: This has quite honestly become my favorite Swiss Army knife . I have my beloved Swiss champ , that is still my goto to bring on vacation (when driving or checking luggage), a work champ that I’m also fond of, a deluxe tinker that I’m still trying to replace the springs on after years of faithful service.
I’ll be honest , with this one, I’ve yet to find a nut the wrench will actually fit, the adjustable pliers don’t work nearly as well as the Victorinox style, the scissors don’t cut as well either (though I prefer the torsion bar on both more than victorinox springs ).
However , even though they charge a hefty premium for the locking blade, it’s worth it. The contoured, rubber inlaid handles are very comfortable, and while I’ve gotten used to using the slip joints of other SAKs, this has been one les thing to worry about.
I wish they’d come out with a smaller version , a blade and file (the locking models don’t have small blades , but small files instead), the openers, and a Philips for the center tool and awl in back.

Nylo: I like the Swisschamp but it is too big of a lump or convenient carry in lightweight pants and shorts in the summertime. I carried an Evogrip 14 for a couple of years but I kept missing the little wood saw. I realize that everyone's needs are different but the Evogrip s17, although more expensive, added the saw and is perfect.
Note that the Evogrip series incorporates features from the old Wenger brand, such as the rubberized scales and most notably, the serrated edge scissors! When you're trying to cut synthetic fibers or braided lines such as Kevlar or polyester with lots of little strands, the serrations in the scissors grip and cut these way better than the smooth edge scissors of the standard Victorinox style.
Other reviewers have complained that the blade lock release tab gets caught in their pocket but I have not had this problem and have been delighted with this knife for EDC in lightweight pants and shorts.
I bought a package of the Victorinox jeweler screwdrivers that fit inside the corkscrew to add an extra tool to this knife. If I can find a place to add a pin or needle that would be great.
By the way, the corkscrew makes an excellent knot...

M.O.: The Victorinox S557 is a good and versatile knife with many different tools. It looks and feels slightly different than most Victorinox knives, with its contoured scales and locking blade, since it is based on the Wenger Evo S557 (Victorinox acquired Wenger in 2005).
In terms of size and functionality, I find it quite similar to another great Victorinox, the Handyman. In fact, the S557 is almost exactly the same height, but a bit shorter than the Handyman. The S557 looks and feels a bit more clunky and less streamlined than the Handyman, but the Wenger overall seems to have a broader range of tools and includes an inline Philips screwdriver, among other things.
Overall a great and versatile little knife.
Pros:
- Many useful functions/tools (seems to be a bit more versatile than the Handyman)
- Shorter and lighter than its sibling, the Victorinox Handyman
- Locking knife blade (lower risk of cutting yourself)
Cons:
- Looks and feels a bit more clunky than its sibling, the Handyman
- Somewhat thick (but still fits comfortably in the pocket)
- Locking knife blade (may not be legal to carry in all countries)
- The locking mechanism...

Elmano Melo: its a SAK so there are no dislikes.
It showed up in perfect condition.
Sharp out of the box , all tools in working order.
The evo grip makes it a bit bigger.
My tinker is smaller & has all the same tools as this one. The tinker has a small knife blade not a file like this model does.
I do have various models. I am a collector.
I like them all. Some are not EDC , I live in Canada so no locking blades.
I have 2 models of SAK that have locking blades.
I use those for camping or hiking .. not EDC.
Over all its a great knife , its in perfect condition & craftsmanship is perfect as always. For EDC it works well. Little bulkier in pocket , but still comfurtable to carry in pocket.
I've Trusted them for yrs. 5⭐+
Delivery was fast. 👍
Amazon thx u. 👍

Mr Pink: This knife is available in the Wenger design and this Victorinox "hybrid" design. Victorinox bought Wenger some time back and now, both produce this model. The all-Wenger model has the brand name embedded at the bottom of the scales. BTW, those are not just stick-on grippy surfaces, they are recessed into the handles and the grip-tops are flush with the celador scales. The feel, in either direction, is just the berries. The ergonomics are simply awesome. At the moment, this model is the absolute favorite of about 7 SAKs that I own. Both the Wenger and Victorinox models are the same size & weight and have the same tool set, but I like this Victorinox better.
First, it just looks and feels fantastic. The yellow is not as "bright" as appears in pictures, think that's the lighting. The primary "best thing" is that it has all the best of the Wenger tools (who originally designed and produced it) and all the best of Victorinox tools wherever they would be an "upgrade". I'll digress a moment here to say that I think the Victorinox tools are, when speaking generally; better. But it's not the case 100% of the time, and there's a few places where Wenger tools do come out ahead....

Chris Plemmons: This is the old Wagner design, which Victorinox bought some time back. It's a great pocket knife. I bought for my son who is in scouts. The scissors are excellent and get used more than the blade (which is much safer). Contours of the grip are nice, with a rubber texture. I highly recommend this, even over the more traditional Victorinox knives.
