Jammy sod: I was doubtful that this would work but, a few months later, my diy fix is still holding firm!

The processes is easy to follow but difficult to do. What I mean is that getting the plug in is very difficult, even after you have used the awl to expand the hole diameter. The solution, as suggested by my smart daughter, is to use the weight of the wheel and tire to push in the plug handle rather than use your weight to push it in. I.e. instead of you trying to push with the handle, roll the tire to a wall and bounce the handle that is partially in the hole against the wall. The momentum and mass of the wheel easily pushes the plug in.

Pulling out the handle is easy after that, then cut with a craft knife, re-inflate, and you’re done for a just a few dollars.

fastened with nails nails nails and lots of them that start falling out after the first year

Reviewer: I have used this a couple of times to fix flats due to nails and screws. More cars are now coming with run-flat tires with no spare...or perhaps one of those spray-in fix-a-flat cans. The first time I used it was on my car with run-flat tires. I think the problem with driving on run-flats is that you might need to replace them after you drive on them for a while w/o pressure, so I think it's better to just fix it where you are and then air it up (I have a pump in my car).

I was originally thinking of getting one with metal handles for the durability, but I figure I won't get my money's worth like a mechanic would, so I settle for these. I mean since I have already used them twice, they've more than paid for itself. One thing I do have a complaint about is the included plugs...they were all sticking to each other and was hard to work with. I dipped the whole thing in rubber cement to make them easier to insert into the tire.

Frank B.Frank B.: Was heading down the beach early season with the family. Hit the 65MPH highway heading down and about 10 miles down out of our 65 miles left on our trip, I felt my driver rear tire go down before my TPMS kicked on, and pulled over to the side of the road; my driver rear tire was down. It was heading towards dusk and I was pretty afraid of being on the side of the road. I took out my AAA 12V pump and figured I'd give his a shot before I tried to limp to a station with my compact spare (Honda Pilot). As soon as I flicked the pump on, I could feel the air coming out of a hole (puncture). Being a bit of a Boy Scout and while most of my stuff is somewhat discretionary to keep in the car (inverter, string lights, ez up tent - you never know when a tailgate party is to happen) I do keep some practical items (ponchos, multi tools, tire plug kit and air pump). I rasped and plugged the hole, filled with air and was back on the road in less than 15 minutes. Checked in at the WaWa to see if the air had held, and it did, pressure even increased from heating up. The plug is still holding fine today - that was about a month ago. This is a great item and can pay for itself pretty quick - one...

Rural Life: A VERY quick permanent repair for most punctured car tires. Just pull the gooey rope half-way through the needle tool (pliers help), remove the screw/nail if it's still in the tire, use the other tool to roughen and round the hole, twist the needle tool into the hole, and then pull it out rapidly. The result gives you 4 layers of gooey rope packed against the inside edge of the tire, held in tightly by air pressure; plus twisted gooey rope through the hole to completely fill the wound. Cut off the ends of the gooey rope at tire tread level, and gravel will soon push it solidly against the outside surface of the hole. I drive a rural mail route, and frequently have these repairs last over 10,000 miles (until the tire is worn out). I've never had to re-patch a hole after using this system. More importantly, I can fix a tire in under 5 minutes, and without taking it off the vehicle. A cheap 12 volt powered inflator, or a can of flat fix, finishes the job. I never need to put on the spare tire, or have a tire professionally repaired; unless I have a puncture in the side-wall, or a huge hole. These kits pay for themselves with the first tire repaired, and additional pieces of gooey...
