John T.: I checked with my vet and he agreed that Vetoquinol ear cleaning solution was a good choice to clean out my cats ears. Even his instructions matched the directions on the bottle. I just squirt a good amount in my cats ears, one ear at a time, then massage the skin below the year upward to the ear to help move the crud up and out. Be prepared to get sprayed when the cat vigorously shakes his head as this is how he slings a lot of the crud out. I also use 6" wood cotton tipped swabs to carefully remove the crud from all of the folds within his ears. The cleaner does a good job in softening and lubricating the crud which makes it easier to remove.

Amazon Customer: My dog experienced ear infections especially after he had a bath. He has floppy ears so they don't dry out so quickly. With this solution, it helps not only to clean the ears, but the dry the inner part of the ear as well. Since I have been using this solution my golden retriever has not had problems with his ears. I highly recommend it.

D W: Dogs’ ears, especially breeds with floppy ears like golden retrievers, can be a problem. Irritations, water, and dirty ears can easily become minor infections which can become major infections. This product (or similar ones, tbh) helps clean the ears and prevent infections. Highly recommend.

I tried various things, until I figured out what the problem was. Once we knew, we applied the Vaseline daily, after cleaning out the ears, for 3 weeks.
Cleaning the ears was the main issue early on. Dogs hated the wiping out of their ears, & I was terrified of hurting them with Q-tips, so I found this ear wash.
I chose this one based on the bottle top, which allows me to aim directly where I want it, & not drown the dogs in ear cleanser every day. I have no other to compare to, but getting this top worked out well.
I can hold the dog's ear, aim directly where I want it to go, & rub it in quickly, before the Head shaking begins.
TIP: I did it in my shower every day. The inevitable spills, & head shaking splatter are easily cleaned next time I shower, & I can be sure whatever comes out, doesn't infect the rugs etc around the house.
The dogs Hated it (as would anyone getting squirted in their ears with cold liquid), but I saw a pretty immediate improvement in the amount of gunk coming out. Their ears were kinda greasy feeling, but...
