It seemed to be a well made product

The Butler Did It!: I sprained my ankle and must have kept twisting it a couple more times before I got wise and ordered this brace. The brace is not universal so make sure you order the correct side as the hard plastic is molded for the ankle bone. I wore it two weeks before I could see the doctor. He approved what I was doing as I had stretched the tendon, nothing broken. So he said to wear it another 2 weeks and take it off. After the 2 weeks, my ankle felt a little weak, so I wore it on and off for a couple of days until it regained it's strength. The brace will stop any side to side movement of the ankle and that is what I needed to get my ankle back.

Mr JR CHAPMAN: Best ankle support I've tried so far great for stability . Only a slight issue with wellies make sure you wear a pair of socks over the support

SkyMtn: I will be wearing a brace like this for the rest of my life. I only found out about this a few weeks ago, when I saw a certain specialist, after previous doctors didn’t help. I wish now that I had found this several years ago.
I have a particular type of damage in my ankle (inside of ankle, including medial malleolus). Ligaments and tendons are damaged. I walked on it anyway until I literally broke off bone chips, and now I only have 2 real options - Wear a splint like this for the rest of my life, or get surgery to fuse my ankle. I really want to avoid fusing my ankle.
Under the guidance of the specialist, I tried different types of wraps, soft braces, spandex support and things like that. They helped a little, but the specialist told me that an air stirrup would be best.
So, I ordered 4 different air stirrups. This one was slightly more expensive than the others, but it was well worth it. Of the four that I ordered, including one that was cushioned with air (which I THOUGHT would be best), this brand is far and away the most comfortable, as well as doing an EXCELLENT job supporting my ankle, while allowing mobility. The pain in my ankle which I have...

Hikaru Y. Maxwell: The good: Stabilises the ankle without compromising ability to walk at all, easy to use and adjust.
The bad: Despite sizing this according to their chart, I feel it's still a little on the long side, stirrup was useless.
I severely sprained my ankle a couple of months back and have nearly resprained it twice in the process of trying to get it to heal. Deciding I didn't want to risk breaking my ankle, I caved and bought an ankle brace that provided stability, making it hard (if not impossible) to move it side to side, but still being able to move it forwards and back so I could walk easily. After looking at reviews for several different braces, I decided on this one, with the gel packs so it would be easier to ice it if need be. I put it on and walked around to test comfort and fit and found one problem.
It kept falling down despite tightening the straps as much as I could. The problem was the fact that the stirrup was way too loose, and there was no way to really adjust it any higher. So I had to rig up something of my own creation, a makeshift stirrup using velcro and wide elastic, and it's definitely made an improvement. It now fits absolutely perfect and the...

MSH: i bought this brace on the advice of my podiatrist for chronic ankle laxity following multiple sprains. She didn't recommend this type of splint, preferring one that has straps that wrap around the splint and ankle region lending much more rigid immobilization. however, I have such a splint that rubs on my peroneus brevis tendon insertion causing pain (I have chronic bilateral tendinitis aggravated by the ankle laxity bilaterally) and I can't tolerate it or other similar splints. So, this is the next best alternative. It is well-made and comfortable but simply doesn't immobilize the ankle well, allowing too much side to side movement. So, if you really have to have good lateral support, get something else.
