Utheer Fireplace Log Set: Realistic Wood Logs for Indoor Gas Fireplace Inserts

John Q. Consumer: Used this on my small 27" LPG fire pit. Just fits inside the 17" bowl area, placed at a 45 degree angle and then used a smaller 10 piece log kit as filler. Used it the other day on low setting for about 5 hours of relaxing on the porch without any pops or shattering explosions from air pockets or condensation. Always wear safety glasses the first time when doing an initial burn of ceramic logs, just in case one does pop, it'll send fragments anywhere. Keep a fire extinguisher and or a large bowl of water on hand too. Next project is to set up a small shelf over the burner ring jets, made from a stainless steel .3" wire mesh to hold the ember material just above the ring jets to give that fire place affect.

AJ JimenezAJ Jimenez: Was a little worried hearing reviews about "black spots" on the logs, after use. I'll verify that after several months this doesn't happen, if you avoid stacking too close together OR avoid setting flame too high. Even then, if you catch it early and readjust the logs, the spots disappear when cool. A little tweaking goes a long way (see photos).

Either way I was impressed with the quality of these logs and look, especially for the price. These are great. OEM Logs were going to cost me over $600, plus shipping.

I will warn though someone should definitely use a well placed iron log grate to lift up the logs from the oulet holes themselves, to avoid any issues with Carbon Monoxide, if going 3rd party. In my overly cautious opinion, a Low-Level CO detector is highly recommended to ensure your all good to go.
