John V.: Super bright. I ride at night sometimes and live in LA, and commute through midtown. I use this light in addition to another rear light I mount on my pack. This light would do the trick on its own it’s so bright but I’m an extra cautious person. The battery life is great! I can do 3 two hour commutes on max brightness without charging it. The installation can’t be easier, it’s basically a heavy duty rubber band that fits around your seat post. 👍 Aces.

Francis Murphy: This little rear cycling light rocks. It has many modes to choose from. And is it bright, cars and others will not fail to notice you with light strapped on behind you. And depending on mode chosen this baby lasts for hours!

CycleBum: Super bright! I don't know how long a charge lasts as most of my rides are not much more than one hour and it is plenty of time for me. I charge it after every ride. The mount, once installed on the bike, is a little hard to get the light into but once in it is held very securely. I've had problems with lights bouncing out in the past. Little chance of that with this mount. One note of caution, this is the second Omega 300 I've purchased, the rubber power button on the top and the charge port plug on the bottom are the same color and I, while not paying attention, inadvertently pulled off the rubber power button instead of removing the charging port cover. Now I have a perfectly good light that is essentially worthless as trying to turn it on with no power button is extremely difficult. Just pay attention and it's not a problem.

MattMatt: This light is extremely bright and works well as a daytime running light. For riding at night, it is probably brighter than necessary. Battery life is good; I have not tested it but I know it's at least enough for 4 hour rides. Unfortunately, the rubber strap broke after about 4 months of use. I do take the mount on and off frequently for races and to mount my bike in a work stand by the seatpost, which likely shortened the life of the rubber strap. I have contacted NiteRider to see if they will send a replacement rubber strap and am awaiting their reply. Will update.
UPDATE: NiteRider got back to me within 24 hours and is sending a replacement rubber strap for free, so changing review from 4 to 5 starts.

Big BirdBig Bird: I am very impressed with this particular light by NiteRider. I have had many lights over the years for mountain and road biking and this one really fits the bill for road biking. The price point is a little high, but so far I have found that you get what you pay for in this light.
Pros: rechargeable, 300 lumins of focused light, vertical or horizontal placement, battery charge indicator, day and night mode, sturdy rubber seat post mounting system, ability to angle the light to combat seat angle, transparent side housing that lets you be seen even from the sides, and even a clip to put it on a backpack etc.
Cons: would be price point and the quick release could have a potential over time to allow the light to vibrate out of it's mount if you don't ensure it is seated in the mount.
I bike on very high speed roads (up to 70 mph) for 20 miles up to 100 miles. So, I need a light that will last the ride, short or long. Riding on roads that have high speed limits do not give cars time to see you and react. It is important that you get their attention the sooner the better to allow them time to adjust to you on the roadway.
This light is seriously bright and...

Mark P.: I apologize for any typographical errors for I inadvertently performed laser eye surgery on myself when turning the unit on for the first time. Make sure the unit is pointed away from you as you press the button. Much brighter than my Solas 100, has more light modes, and will be used to supplement the Garmin RTL515's 8-65 lumen lights (20 solid, 8 peloton, 29 night flash, 65 day flash).
Make sure you fully clip the unit in. I read some comments stating they lost it on the first ride. When I initially installed mine, it stopped about 3/4s of the way in with what I thought was a click. Make sure it's fully seated past the retaining tab. You can install it vertically or horizontally as well as choose where you want the power button/charging port to be positioned due to the square attachment point on the back of the light. Worth the extra $ over the Solas 250 imo.
There's also a newer version of this called the Omega 300 EVO with NiteLink that pairs with a remote and NiteLink lights that allow you to control all your (NiteLink) lights with a single remote. Found out about it after I purchased this light but still don't have buyer's remorse due to the fact it I would have...
