USB Rechargeable Bicycle Light by Outair: Illuminate Your Ride!

Damien: I bought these lights in the summer of 2018; it's 2019 now and I'm giving my year-long tested review.

The reason I got these - I'm in NYC, and in the last few years as biking has become increasingly popular with younger riders, specifically teenagers who get together in groups and do "ride-outs", which for those who are unfamiliar with the term, is dozens of people swarming the streets at once on their bikes and basically taking over all lanes of traffic. Because of this, the NYPD has been cracking down on bicycle safety, and people have been getting tickets for not having proper equipment, or the worst case scenario, getting their bikes seized for dangerous riding. I'm a BMX rider, so I set out to make sure I have all the proper items on my bike so I would not run into trouble. I know it is unorthodox for a BMX to have all safety gear required by NYC equipped on it (people usually strip everything down off these types of bikes for weight), but I'd rather have these cool little lights than pay a fine for not having them.

Eric: I purchased 2 sets of these for my bike. I put the white ones on the front and the reds on the back. My primary use for them was as side marker (visibility) lights. One on each fork and on the seat stays. As side visibility lights, they work out great. Good size, light and bright (with several flashing patterns as well as constant on). I would not recommend these for your primary lights, they are not nearly bright enough. Rather, they are great secondary lights.
They charge quickly, but I found that in the constant on state, they last just over 2 hours and in a flashing mode, I got just over 2.5 hours out of them. So be prepared to charge these often. Since my ride home is an hour, i have to charge them almost every other day.
As for mounting, the rubber band is easy to put on and off, but if you have oversized frame tubes, these might not fit, I couldn't mount these lights on my downtube, as the rubber band would not fit around it. In attempting to, I managed to snap one of the rubber bands. The upside, is that they give you an extra set in the box and include a card in the box to order additional bands. Chan: The media could not be loaded.  With the kids now old enough to bike around with the husband and I all over town, we discovered that we needed more bike lights to keep everyone visible and able to see the ground in front of us while biking. Some areas of our city have spotty lighting, and while it's only a short distance between street lamps, it always puts us at ease knowing everyone is visible and everyone can see clearly. Because we didn't want to invest in $80 lights for our kids bikes just yet, I purchased the Outair Bike Lights with the intention of making my kids more visible to other drivers, but didn't have high expectations of the lights - at ~$10 for both lights, I figured the kids could learn how to use the lights while not breaking the bank should they lose or break them. Despite the low cost, these lights have exceeded my expectations. Both lights are bright, hold a decent charge - we use our regularly every other day for at least an hour at a time - and quickly charge using micro USB chargers.
