Boca Cat: What can I say? I have a crazy cat who seemed to delight in knocking over the water and leaving me a nice mess to clean up. I just happened to see these bowls when I was surfing the news on my phone and I decided to give them a try. Well, they work. He has been unsuccessful at knocking them over. Unfortunately, the bowls are no match for cat furniture falling on them. One of the bowls is dented and I do not know how long it will last but I will definitely buy another set when these are no longer usable.

Update - after 3 months of washing daily and the cats using them, the inside is getting scratched. I don't know if it is from the cats or from me washing them using a paper towel. I've lowered my rating because I will probably have to buy another set. I am very happy that there is no water on the floor.

Peggy: I think the bowls are fine; I love that they are stainless steel and dishwasher safe. I like the black mat that comes with it. My one boy dog likes to play with his food and so, sometimes he pushes it out of the bowl and now it ends up on the mat instead of on the floor. That same boy dog does not seem to like the deepness of the new bowls. I say that because, when I mixed his dry food in with some wet, I put it in the bowl and he barked at it and wouldn't eat it. I transferred it into his older, less deep stainless steel bowl and he immediately went for it. I figured it was because he wasn't used to the new bowl and doesn't like change. I will keep trying! What I'm doing now is just keeping their dry food in it that I let them eat throughout the day when I'm at work. When I give them wet food mixed into their dry, I use the lower profile bowls. My 3 dogs are all under 30 pounds and since I don't usually give them enough food to fill the bowls, they have to put their noses down into the bowl further and maybe that's why the bowls may not work as well for smaller dogs, as they do for the larger dogs. I may also use them for their water bowls, at times. We'll see. I would have given...

AK10: UPDATE 12.20: I’ve had these bowls for 3yrs+ now. I guess it’s time to replace it. Her water bowl has now started to rust, so obviously I can’t use it anymore and replacement bowls aren’t available. But to be honest, while this definitely helped with catching water and food splashes and prevents bowls from tipping, I think I need something heavier. My dog is about 60 lb lab mix and an excited eater - sometimes she ends up pushing the whole mat around while she eats, even when it’s positioned against a wall. But at least it didn’t tip over when she does that - so that definitely something. And there seems to be a sort of film that can’t be washed off the silicone at this point, despite regular washing over the years - but perhaps I’ve just reached the end of life for this product? I was very disappointed to see the rust develop on stainless steel.

ORIGINAL: I am a first time dog owner, and can be a bit of a clean freak. I was happy to find these bowls, because they not only keep the bowls in place, but the tray also collects the drops of water or pieces of food that may not make it into my doggie's mouth or stay in the bowl. My dog is a 50lbs chocolate lab...

JB: I have a multi pet home as many people do. We have two cats and two dogs. This dish has made my life so much easier. One of my cats would move the water bowls around much to my dismay and my other pets. Some cats like moving water so this is not an uncommon problem. But it is dangerous one. I have come in the kitchen only to slip and slide around because he has moved the water bowls again and over course spilling water all over the place. This caused many falls. I tried mats, self watering bowls, even an expensive cat drinking fountain. He would out smart them all or the other animals would not drink from it. BUT this simple thing cured it all. They all drink from it and no more slipping and sliding and falling. I wash and rinse off the mat and bowls at the end of each day and leave them to dry in the dish drainer. Our dogs retire and the cats have a heavy bowl I found years ago he can't move in there food area for drinking at night. In the morning the mat and bowls are ready for fresh water at feeding time. With 4 pets I do fill it 3 to 4 times each day, but for one or two it would be sufficient to fill at your am & pm feeding times. The stainless bowls are deeper than...

Seraphima: I have a 7 month old kitten who is already 10 lbs and strong as heck. He loves to dip his paw in his water and knock the bowl around, spilling it every time. I've tried all kinds of bowls, but nothing was ever heavy enough to foil his attempts to bat it around. I tried a plastic tray underneath it, which would catch most of the spill, but then he'd just splash around in the tray and track the water all over. I tried bowls with "non-skid" bottoms, but they were still far too light. The combination of the depth of these bowls, and the silicone tray, makes it much more difficult to get the whole thing moving enough to spill. He can still dip his paw of course, nothing can stop that, but if you have a cat you can't expect to be able to stop *every* mess they make. I got the larger size with the 53oz bowls on accident, and at first he was reluctant to use them, I think because he had to put his head in so deep that he couldn't see anything outside the bowl. But with a few days time, he's warming up to them. I put a few treats in there to encourage him at first. I could have exchanged for the smaller size but ultimately I think the extra depth will help continue to stop the spills in...
