Jennifer: I’m updating my original post to reflect the amazing service I received from the vendor upon seeing my review. They contacted me with options on how to resolve the situation and I asked for a replacement product. I received it within 24 hours! And this one doesn’t leak. So happy!
So disappointed in this product. It leaks even in locked position. Purchased a similar product last year and it was great. Frustrated that this product isn’t eligible for an Amazon return and I can’t seem to find a way to contact the vendor. Save your money and purchase something else!

Bart: Hi , I like it but if you put it on it’s side, it will leak out the hole in the tray where the water comes out. I don’t know if it’s supposed to do that ? Either than that I like it. You have to keep it up.

Emily V.: I absolutely love this for long walks with my small dog. She is only about 10 lbs, doesn't shed fur (thick coat), and is all-black absorbing a lot of the sun's rays. This is an absolute life saver for summer-time walks and I love that whatever she doesn't drink or if she isn't interested, I can just press the button to suck the excess water back up. It also has a locking feature (thank goodness) so it doesn't leak and in case you want to throw in in a back pack, or take it on a trip, camping, etc.

The Metal Cook: This is way more handy to have than I expected. Saw someone at my local park with one and had to have it. While it only holds 11oz of water, I find it is plenty for most cases. This is because you don't waste water! Before I was just filling up a little bowl from a regular bottle and whatever my dog didn't drink I would have to toss. I'd end up using a whole 20oz bottle and it wasn't enough after a quick trip to the park. Now I often come home with water still leftover.
My dog is a Husky/Pit mix, so she's a good sized dog and can drink it up. She recognizes her special bottle and drinks from it no problem. The water flow isn't too fast or too slow, it is able to keep up with her rate of fast drinking without overflowing.
The bottle is easy enough to clean. The instructions that came with it showed how to take out a filter, but this doesn't have a filter. I guess there are bottles with a filter and they just use the same printed instructions. Doesn't matter so much, a filter is just something else to replace and honestly I wouldn't give my dog water I wouldn't drink, so I don't need a filter.
This has come in real handy or road trips, camping trips, walks...
