R. Keaton: This book has everything! It's huge and absolutely packed with useful information. It's much more than an analysis of each card. It goes through how to interpret spreads as a whole, not just card by card, it talks about how to relate to clients, how astrology/numberology can be integrated into the readings, it's amazing. I had to get some post-it flags to identify all of the charts and guidance that I use regularly, so I could find them quickly. I can't even explain how much good information is in this book! No matter how experienced you already are, I guarantee you can still use this book.

Lorie Daly: Not only is this book very informative, you can go to Benebell's website and download study guides to use in conjunction with the book to further your knowledge. There is so much information at your finger tips; videos, downloads, etc. I am learning so much! I am so glad I stumbled upon this book it is money well spent. Go to her website, you will not be sorry.

GracieMonMon: This book had been on my wish list for the longest time, but because of the size it seemed intimidating 😂 I am kicking myself for not getting it earlier. Benebell is such a wonderful author with in-depth knowledge! The questions that I had all these years were brilliantly answered in this book! Though Benebell dismissed the fortune telling aspect from the very start (which I imagine would upset a few), but hey knowledge is still knowledge!
I have purchased a few tarot guidebook, the attempt of explaining the court cards (for example but not limited to) did not even scratch the surface, Benebell on the other hand has done a brilliant job of dissecting every aspect of it. Also I really like how she provides case studies as well, which adds another layer of understanding how tarot can be interpreted . Love it! Can’t recommend enough!

Mitiluc: I don’t want to write an unfair review.
I had very high hopes of this book, based on Benebell’s youtube channel and the humongous number of pages. Somehow, the book does not answer my expectations, and this is not her fault, just my assumptions at play. I guess I was hoping to find a different kind of approach and depth, but I can’t connect with text when trying to read the cards.
I have to say I admire and applaud the research she puts in everything, including this book. Maybe I found it too early. Maybe I will return to it later on, when I am way more familiar with the cards and their original interpretation. At this point in time, I can’t connect with the book 😞

LoveSkulls13: (tl;dr): this is a must for anybody who reads the tarot…but check out her site first)
If I were able to read this book 20 years ago, I would’ve learned tarot much faster, grasped deeper meanings sooner and, most importantly, learned HOW I could grasp those meanings on my own. Benebell is a natural teacher. I worked full-time as an interpreter at a university. After interpreting more than 100 courses, I learned that teaching is an art. There are many skilled teachers…but those who have an innate talent for it, the ability to break down complex concepts in such a way that even a neophyte can easily understand are rare…and I believe Benebell Wen is one of those rare few.
I discovered her by accidentally stumbling across her site—which I highly recommend, not only because it is a wonderful, comprehensive resource, but also because it will give you a clear picture of whether or not you agree with Benebell’s overall approach. The reason I’m advising people to check out her site *before* you buy the book is that she does not believe in using the tarot to predict the future, but rather learning as much as possible about the symbols and their origins as well as...

Petra: I came across Tarot by accident, had a gut feeling that there might be something more to this, and quickly thought 'Why is everyone using this method as a "voodoo" fortune-telling trick when there is this actually a psychological application where the cards enable one to see unconscious childhood behavioral patterns?
Luckily I came across this author who takes the same common sense, realism-based approach to Tarot without theater acts or magical/religious cult thinking. It's about learning to consciously see what we do every day and what the short-, middle- and long-term life consequences will be, simply based on logical action and reaction. This is where it really becomes apparent, what the damage and loss of not having psychology in school, really is.
Additionally, the book contains everything one needs to know to get started without overburdening a learner with complex mathematical or psychological concepts (and omitting all overcomplicated concepts that only sound rational but are there for people to believe in them without questioning them). It's all straightforward and easy to follow with common sense, logic, and rational thinking. It just makes sense. Also the...

Maggie Percy: I am relatively new to tarot, having used the Zen tarot cards for myself for some years, but the Rider Waite deck not as often. As a professional dowser, I have many interests in intuitive techniques. I always wanted to learn to use tarot better, so I purchased this book. I am an information junkie and very analytical, although also very intuitive. This book is just what I needed. Some people might find it overwhelming, but just do one chapter at a time and take it slow. I've gotten through about 1/4 of the book at this point. I have not read straight through, but mostly. I have consulted the appendices and found the numerology summaries for Life Paths to be more useful to me than those in a book I have on Numerology. It's like you get these little surprise gifts as you go through the book.
This book includes lots of useful information for practitioners who intend to read for others. I think if you ever intend to read for others, you must learn ethics, how to present what you've 'seen' in the cards and develop your intuition as fully as possible, since intuition is a key to reading. This book will help you do all those things. She also includes suggestions about things that...

christine: So this book is a brick. I was not expecting it to be so thick. But upon looking into it, it's no surprise why - it's incredibly comprehensive, factoring in multiple traditions, interpretations, and cultural histories. To me it is THE book on tarot. However, I had to knock a star off because this book is too darn big for its flimsy binding. It didn't take too long for it to come apart and I have to keep the separated sections and loose pages all together in a plastic bag so I don't lose any of it. I wish there was a sturdier hard-cover version.
